The Land Split

Reviewed By JacUlmarra - Grafton, Australia

For the price of a donation you can enter this local farm and walk through the massive split caused by an earthquake. It's very interesting to see, and fun to walk through. We saw some pretty interesting lizards along the way. After the walk the owners kindly invite you to sit and enjoy some of their homegrown products, such as roselle juice and jam, banana and papaya, tamarind, delicious banana chips and tiger peanuts, all of which you can also buy from them. It was a very nice experience

Big Buddha Statue

Reviewed By Andy_B_Shin - Seoul, South Korea

The Big Buddha Statue is one of the many places you should visit while you're in Pai. There is a temple below the stairs leading up to the statue where you can view the sunset from the top. We went just as the sun was about to set but didn't stay for long as it got a little crowded. In case you're using your own means of transport, once you pass the entrance gate from the main road, you'll see a flight of stairs leading up to the temple. Continue driving up a paved road on your right and you'll reach the temple where you can park your vehicle and take another flight of stairs leading up to the statue. Please not that there are multiple signs with the writing "Please dress politely" and even has pictures of what you should NOT wear. We saw so many rude tourists either dressed skimpily or chatting loudly while others were praying at the statue. It is a place of worship not a beach party. Please show some respect for the culture and religion of the hosts in the country you are residing as guests.

Pai Memorial Bridge

Reviewed By karilynnequin - Picton, Canada

A nice stop on the way to Pai Canyon. We received conflicting information as to whether it's the original bridge built by the Japanese in 1942 to get to Myanmar/Burma OR the Japanese destroyed the original bridge and the current bridge was transported from Chiang Mai. If anyone knows for sure I'm sure everyone would be interested. Worth a look and it's free.
