War Memorial Carillon Tower

Reviewed By CarolynW939 - Simcoe, Canada

My husband and I have attended the Nov 11 parade and service at the Simcoe Carillon War Memorial many times. We've also enjoyed the music on a summer evening, and especially at Christmas. The history of the Carillon structure, the plaques commemorating those lost in war is reverent. The volunteers who play the bells during the Panorama Lights Christmas season are truly a local treasure.

Bonnieheath Estate Lavender & Winery

Bonnieheath balances an authentic agricultural experience with the sophistication and class of an estate winery. Enjoy a glass of wine or hard cider as you explore our expansive grounds, where vineyards, orchards, prairie grasses, lavender fields and a natural wetland await you.

We went on a Saturday in July so I was worried it would be super crowded. We were pleasantly surprised that there were very few people there! With COVID restrictions you could still do a wine and cider tasting. We ended up buying some of each. We had brought a picnic lunch and a blanket, and sat amongst the lavender and enjoyed it. All you could hear were the bees buzzing! No traffic sounds, very peaceful. We walked on their path around the vineyard as well. Beautiful property!

Apple Hill Lavender

Reviewed By plavaseka - Toronto, Canada

Decided to take a country drive out to Apple Hill Lavender farm. What a gorgeous pleasant surprise! There are stunningly bright purple fields full of lavender in various stages of growth. You've got the small blooms to the full deep purple blooms. The photos you take are stunning and just amazing. You can wander around as long as you like , there is no admission fee and there is also a small shop where you can buy lavender products. It is a small, cozy and pleasant farm. There were 3 local vendors selling their wares right by the apple trees. It's nice to see local vendors being supported by the farm. I came on a whim, driving from Mississauga and it was a wonderful way to spend my morning. The owner indicted the raspberry bushes by the barn and said I was more than welcome to eat some of the raspberries. He said they are totally natural and boy could you taste it! I highly recommend this small, friendly and gorgeous farm if you're looking for a day trip out into the country !! Thank you for a wonderful morning. It made me very happy. ????

My family and I recently discovered Port Rowan Wetlands. We love it! If you enjoy nature, water, birds, dragonflies, bees, frogs, snakes, salamanders, tall grasses, flowers... you will, too. A great place for a stroll or a jog, or for taking pictures.

Port Dover Lighthouse

Reviewed By PACMEG6 - Cambridge, Canada

We arrived in Port Dover late on a Friday night. We took a stroll out to the beach just as the sun was setting. We saw the lighthouse in the distance and made a note to come back the next day. The next was a beautiful day and we took a walk out to the end of the pier. Many benches along the pier to sit and enjoy the view. Thought we'd be able to go into the lighthouse but it is not accessible. Nevertheless it was lovely to look at and we enjoyed the peaceful time. A beautiful place to unwind.
