Canmore Recreation Centre

Reviewed By Mommasbest - Vernon, Canada

Stopped in on drive through to Calgary. Excellent pool facility, 10 lane 25m lap pool, kept slightly cool for good workouts; play pool was considerably warmer, with 2 lap lanes, river run, water slide. Large open area, lots of light. Showers/change rooms large and clean. Lots of open lane swim times each day. Also in same building are some awesome climbing walls, cardio/weight room, and the local library.

Shrine Church of Our Lady of the Rockies Parish

We are a Roman Catholic parish in the process of building a new church. Presently we are meeting for weekend masses in the gym of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Academy at 3100A Stewart Creek Drive. Saturday evenings at 7:00 pm and Sunday mornings at 10:00 am.

Such a nice little Catholic Church and mass is always uplifting and enjoyable ????????????. The new location is quite far away which is unfortunate.

Blackshale Suspension Bridge

Reviewed By 881pattic - Red Deer, Canada

Great hike...long or short. There is a one kilometer loop or a 7.5 kilometer loop. Easy hike. The longer one, park across the highway and then cross back over the highway. The parking lot has bathrooms. Watch outfit people on bikes on the trail. They tend to be a little out of control. Good for children. Wear good shoes and take water.

Policeman's Creek Boardwalk

Reviewed By BrittanyMExplores - Winnipeg, Canada

I walked a portion of this trail (about 2 km) on September 27, 2020. I enjoyed discovering this pretty little trail through town and it was such a gem! The trail led along a section of wooden boardwalks through an open grassy area and along the creek on a gravel path through the woods. There were lots of amazing views along the way. It was a very peaceful trail, flat and easy, and a nice place to go for a relaxing walk.

Highwood Pass

Reviewed By BenLar137 - Calgary, Canada

It's the highest paved road in Canada, and it brings you pretty close to the treeline without having to get out of your car. But you'll want to get out of your car, as the scenery is gorgeous. For those who hike, there are a number of excellent trails that start at the paved parking area at the trailhead. If you have visitors from places were there's no mountains, this is a stunning place to take them! NOTE: The highway does not open until June 15, but in the weeks prior, the roads are generally clear of snow, and the highway and pass then become one of the regions premier cycling routes.

Kananaski Wildlife Drive

Reviewed By 682KarenW - Orangeville, Canada

What a great find doing this drive. Apparently part of this road is closed down come December so the animals can enjoy no traffic. Lots of places to explore off the highway. Many places to take hikes to see falls etc There are animal warnings because this is the wilderness so be prepared and read signs. Takes a whole day to exlpore if you plan to stop and explore. Some hikes are short with nice rewards. Example Troll Falls. Also the resort by golf course has amazing views.

Rafter 6 Ranch

Reviewed By GregHarrisSutton1 - Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom

My wife and I booked with rafter 6 for a 1hr lesson (I had never ridden before and she was a bit rusty) and a 2hr trail ride. We were met by Iona and Cowboy the dog who were very friendly and welcoming. Being somewhat unsure (scared) of horses Iona completely understood and looked after me throughout the whole lesson. By the end of the lesson I was confident enough to go on the ride with the wonderful Cruise as my trusty steed! The trail ride was amazing, through trees and along the river side in the snow! By the time we returned to the ranch I had lost feeling in my toes and hands due to the cold but Gerrard had put some water to boil and provided us with baileys hot chocolate complete with marshmallows! Whilst having a conversation with him it became obvious that he has such passion and love for all of his animals. We then pulled our RV up in the camping field where Gerrard provided us with wood for a fire and made sure we had everything we needed, we had a whole field to ourselves and even got to glimpse a couple of deer. Brilliant ranch who clearly value animal welfare and customer satisfaction as top priorities!
