Pruneti

Pruneti introduces its Oil Tasting Room, soul and heart of innovation that Pruneti brings from Chianti Classico to World Market. With the Oil Tasting Room we exceed the simple tasting experience introducing a new age, where the “Pruneti Extraordinary-Experience” turns into a journey in the augmented reality of the oil Universe. The Pruneti Extra-ordinary Experience goes back a long way – more than four generations ago – and like a time machine takes us to the very near and contemporary future. A “never ending story” goes not only over the time, but also over the space, it comes out of Frantoio Pruneti and the Oil Tasting Room’s borders and it’s ready to conquer an always growing Pruneti Lovers Community.

Beautiful new olive oil tasting room in the heart of Greve. Chianti is known for its wine but the Pruneti family now strives to educate the beauty of olive oil. Located next to the bus stop which we took from Florence. Super easy to get to. We did a guided olive oil tasting, we tried 9 olive oil ranging from fruity to spicy, from blended to single varieties. aromas of fresh cut grass to tomatoes! We then did the tasting with food, and even a couple Chianti Classico to pair. All the food prepared in their own kitchen. Learning about extra virgin olive oil is just as fun as learning about wine! Extremely interesting experience! Highly recommend.

Castello di Verrazzano

Visitors to this romantic estate have agreed the trip was well worth it: the family is warm and hospitable, the grounds are ruggedly romantic and the wines are impressive.

We arrived in Greve a day early for our booking and needed somewhere to stay for that night. Luckily for us the Verrazzano farmhouse had two rooms for our party of 4 and we signed in. Offered a wine tour up at the castle, we first spent an hour enjoying a bottle of wine and those amazing Italian snacks including salumi and cheese. The wine tour was very special as we followed our guide through the cellars, seeing prosciutto hams maturing, olive oil vats, ageing balsamic vinegar and impressive wine collections. This included the family's own private collection. A tutored tasting with more cheese and salami completed the tour. Our rooms in the farmhouse were excellent and the breakfast served in a small courtyard first class. Could not recommend this place highly enough. To put this in context I live in a small vineyard in the Hunter Valley, so know my wines and wine tours!
