Climbing Mount rinjani summit through the Sembalun villae is easier because it’s located at 1.150m above sea level while Senaru has an altitude 601m above sea level. This trekking activities usually takes place and starts at Pelawangan Sembalun that offer a very beautiful landscape all the way up to the crater rim. Doing trekk at rinjani summit is one of the best experience that you will never forget in your life time.

We did the 2 day, 1 night trek from Senaru with Sam and his two porters and it was phenomenal. Almost too well organised and we were spoilt to the point we felt bad for the porters. These guys are insane, they carry everything from water(multiple bottles - remember, to cook rice and noodles and wash the cutlery and plates they need a lot of water), the tents and sleeping bags, food and snacks, and their own stuff. And they did the entire trek in probably half the time we did, carrying all that! You get fed really well the entire time. Food was almost too much for us as we were given multiple meals with fruit platters, snacks and coffee. If you do it, make sure you stay with the guys at Rinjani Lighthouse, there's a German family doing some really good work for the village and community, so please support them and do support Rinjani Excellent. Suti and his team only care for you to have the best experience throughout so rest assured, you'll be taken care of. Lastly, make sure you tip the guide and porters at the end.
