This place came highly recommended by our hotel and other guests - particularly for having vegetarian options. The menu itself was large and not so vegetarian-friendly, however the staff were very helpful and understood different dietary requirements. They explained what could be veganised on the menu for me, even offering to make something else from scratch, and the rice and vegetables I got in the end were extremely delicious. My family was very happy with their choices too. The white wine was also good.The atmosphere was cosy but also accommodating to large groups and the staff were attentive and friendly. Only downside was the TV screen and slightly higher prices than the surrounding area. It was quite authentically Peruvian though.This is a nice option for those who want a more formal sit-down dining experience, as (the hotel informed us too) Costa Rican dining in a traditional sense is less restaurant-based and more appropriate for a Soda-style lunch of the day sort of affair (highly recommended too and better in the big Mercado in the city centre).

Recommended the hamburger, I visited this restaurant often and the last time the hamburger received was "cold", the waiter said that will replace but he did was to "reheat" the one received and the bread was broken and missed parts. Really disappointed for the good service received in past visits, but this time was really bad. I did not want to complain due to the time and the company because was dining with my wife.The service was not good, this is the true. We´re really sorry for your bad experience, For Leño y Carbón, customer satisfaction is the main thing, and that is why we ask for the most sincere apologies, sometimes situations happen that get out of hand, but our effort is that each customer and each service, is of the best quality. If possible, we would like you to make amends for your next visit, if you would be so kind as to give us another opportunity.

Not as good as previous visits. They dont take reservations at some hours. Appetizers where small and not as good as before (ceviche with patacones, tuna). One of the main dishes arrived with someoneâs hair from the kitchen. Also it was expensive. We sincerely wish they return to their previous glory times.

Is one of my favorites places, surronded by beutiful gardens, very peaceful. The service is great!! I like that you can find in the menu, pastas, pizzas, seafood, beef, chicken, and everything is delicious!!!Thanks to your comments we will continue to improve our attention. I tried many Peruvian restaurants in my life and this one is one you can easily miss. The service was terrible even with little customers on the place. They offer valet parking and with a concert in the nearby stadium it was difficult to find a space in the street as they do no reserve spots for their customers. The food was nicely presented but regular. A sampler of ceviches at 20k colones ($40) is arm robbery. I am an easy going customer but this place simply disappointed me, I will not return or recommend to friends.It is very unfortunate what he mentions. In short, these parking issues when there are activities in the National Stadium generate this type of inconveniences, taking into account that our parking works through the Valet Parking.For us it is very important to have more clear the details to which it refers with the service, so if it were possible to obtain your telephone number or email to abound in the subject, it would be very helpful.Thank you.

The menu has a big alert along the bottom warning you of the 27% service charge for the restaurant. Do your math beforehand so you don't end up shocked, even if you did see it coming (raising my hand here).The service was friendly and attentive but the food took my attention here. What our group had to say about it:Veggie causa: Mushrooms, carrots, peppers, and broccoli on the mashed potato heaven. Very good.Pasta with shrimp: Sauce was unique and super creamy. Shrimp cooked well. Tasty.Chicken with ham: Essentially a cordon blue. Cooked well with good ham. Cabbage salad was tasty.Was it worth the 27% service charge? Depends. If you have access to great Peruvian food elsewhere, no. If you don't, yes. But after a review of our receipt we saw they had taken several hundred colones of the prices of our meal, dropping it lower than what we should have paid. Thank you!If you are not on a budget and want a fancy night out with great Peruvian food, this is the ticket.

We bought a Yuplon offer to try this restaurant and were very pleasantly surprised. This is the best combination of price and quality sushi we have found in 5 years living here. They have a second floor, live music on some nights and 'happy hour' prices noon to 3 and before 7pm.
