On arrival, we were greeted as long lost friends even though we had never been there before. The menu had a varied selection and the food arrived quickly after it was ordered. The service was good throughout and all the staff very helpful. We all enjoyed the food, the ambience and the evening.

I guess this restaurant aims to provide standard taverna fare and it does it well. We were warmly welcomed and fed with food of a very good standard. It cannot be easy to run a restaurant in two parts, one up a side street and the other overlooking the beach. But they did it well. We were never kept hanging around. The pricing is good and we had a lovely evening there. Nothing negative, but lacking that little something that might lift it to five stars.

So don’t order starter or pudding. You get complimentary ‘Greek bruschetta’, pudding and a glass of ouzo. Our main courses were huge. I suspect my swordfish was frozen, it was a very large thin and a bit over cooked steak. My partner had chicken a la creme which he really enjoyed. The female server was great fun and the staff worked really hard - checking and clearing plates. Given the prices it’s hard to see how they make profits.

We had a wonderful dinner at Koxili sitting at a table at the waters edge on the beach. Wonderful fresh fish and greek food with excellent service. So glad we went.

Situated on the beautiful Romanos beach, in a perfect position. Beds and shade $5 til end of August. Coffee ok, but at $3.50 expensive. Would be a favourite place, if not for loud (far too loud) bass-driven music covering the whole area of beach and sea in the afternoon. Requests to turn it down ignored. Such a shame.

Used Platanos every day while in Pilos for a week for my early morning coffee sitting under the huge plane trees watching the world go by everything in Pilos happens around the square,was even bought my coffee by nice Greek man one morning who said he paid because I was a guest in his country went back with my wife for lunch on two occasions and was served traditional Greek food my wife thought the setting was wonderful this is the place to be in Pilos

Staying at Westin Costa Navarino and enjoyed a lovely meal at this local taverna. Saganaki was delicious! Try the baked feta, tsatsiki and the best chips ever! Large bottle of water €1.40 and meal was v reasonable. Particularly enjoyed the meze. You can get a taxi there for €15 or walk through the gate near the golf course.
