We had a group and had the restaurant to ourselves. The food was excellent and varied. The owner introduced us to all of the staff including the guys in the kitchen. The service was excellent - everyone very friendly, very sharp. The restaurant had a great feel to it. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We had lunch in Los Caracoles and liked the place. It was pretty full but the order came without a big delay. All dishes were great! I wanted to try razor shells and chicken- pork belly salad but it was too much for me. The waiter offered me a half portion razor shells, which was happily accepted. The salad was delisious! Grilled octopus was one of the best we tried in Galicia. At the end we got a bill with jelly snails (tasty sails I must say!)

This is a great small Tapas Bar in a narrow street just down from the Cathedral, that is dotted with similar bars and eating places. This was packed and had great atmosphere and the food was good quality if not stylish. Go to the Black Cat for some fun as everyone was enjoying themselves. standing at the bar or jostling for a table

Meson 42

In full Rua do Franco (very close to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela) your restaurant is always adapted to modern times. Meson 42 is your confidence to make local wines, a beer or sit and enjoy traditional Galician cuisine prepared with love

Good and plentiful food, and a buzzy atmosphere. The road has many restaurants with similar Galician menus, so you probably can take your pick. We were a group of 9 and they made up a table for us very quickly, so quickly in fact that we had only just ordered a couple of bottles of house wine from the bar while we waited. The barman chose instead to serve us with a couple of his most expensive bottles, including one not even on the wine list, so I guess he could charge what he liked for it. We also tried to get tap water (the town is full of public drinking fountains and the tap water in the hotel is fine. . .) but this was treated with contempt. Plastic drinking water bottles at €2.90 were therefore served. 'Meson 42' was rechristened 'Fawlty Too' when the chubby waiter having nearly pulled a bottle from the rack with his bottom, squeezing behind our table, managed it only too well at the second visit. A bottle of wine shattered on the floor, and we all had to get up and move while the mess was cleared. The recommended Tacos Bacalaowas over priced and turned out to have 3 very small pieces of cod and a lot of potato. The langostinos and the sea food platter were plentiful.Anyway we enjoyed ourselves even if the meal turned out to be our most expensive.Hello Tumlingtar2015, we are very sorry that your experience in our restaurant was not entirely satisfactory. As you can see in other reviews, we usually receive many tourists and also local people in our restaurant, always putting the best of our part for everyone. We will consider your comment to try to improve in the future. Regards!

Almost like a private club but really amiable. They make you feel at home and offer superb suggestions of truly great seafood dishes (I didn't try the great looking meats). Intimate, modern, imaculate and absolutely wonderful cuisine... Oysters amazing, scallops OMG, and Rape Negro (best monkfish I've ever tasted without doubt). Cannot wait to return.

I had dinner there last night after reading good reviews. Couldn’t get in the night before but last night it wasn’t busy at all. Had tomato salad which they are famous for, and even though I ordered a starter portion it was enormous and I could only eat a half portion. Tasty enough if you like tomatoes! For main course I had hake, Muros style. It looked beautiful on a bed of sliced potatoes, but in true Galician style it was way over salted. I don’t know why they use so much salt. It’s overpowering and you can’t taste the fish at all!Maybe another dish would be less salty....
