Plavi Podrum sits in a small harbour amongst other bars and restaurants on the Lungo do Mare and is an excellent place to eat and people watch. The first thing to note is that the owner is ever present - this is always a good sign.The menu is appealing to all - nothing is too much trouble, the waiters are knowledgable, helpful, humorous and proud of the food on offer.Someone in the kitchen cares about the customer experience because they are cooking for the customer and not for the chefs ego!Each course is perfectly presented and cooked with skill, love and respect for food An amuse is presented at the start and a present from the restaurant at the end of the meal (a mistletoe brandy) - itâs the little touches that enhance the experience.The bill was around 100 sterling for two with two glasses of champagne.This restaurant offers a set menu and a la carte.Iâd recommend this one to friends and family and anyone else who asked!Good food, great service, excellent setting and Iâd return again and again!

Our first night in Opatija and what a great choice to start our dining experience. We ordered spaghetti and risotto with all the meals being perfectly cooked and delicious. Portions are good and the prices are reasonable. We dined outside and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The restaurant was packed and everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. Our waiter was excellent. Yes, we waited a little while for our food but as I said, the restaurant was full so we simply enjoyed our conversation and the atmosphere. The food, when it arrived, was worth it. On our third night, we got back very late after a day trip and decided to get pizzas delivered. Our hosts ordered on our behalf from Roko and again the food was good but be aware the pizzas where HUGE!!

We love this charming restaurant full of energy and Mediterranean atmosphere. Different from the other places and very unique. Few times that we have been here we have tried different dishes but our favourite is fish gregada and tuna tartar. Service very good and professional. If you are in the area try it.

This restaurant is in the suburbs so is mostly frequented by locals. There is free parking just outside.There is a choice of sitting outside or inside. The outside area is particularly nice because it is under a large tree. There is also a small play area for kids. Our food was brilliant! The portions are big! We had the scampi risotto & squid which was so tasty. For desert we had a delicious lemon ice cream and pancakes. The prices are very reasonable. This place has a great local atmosphere and good service. Definitely worth the visit!

We've bin around a few restaurants here but this is definitely our favorite. Off the main road, you really have to look for it. Perfectly fresh fish. Ask for the fish, not for the menu. You never know what they are cooking! We had Scampi as a starter and Dentex as main course. The trick is the cooking: no fancy things just scampi boiled in a nice bouillon and the dentex grilled. As befits a good konoba, simple but very tasty. The restaurant is in the cellars of an old captains house, and an experience in itself. Have a look at the different spaces, and of course a chat with the chef. Definitely worth the money and the walk. Coming back here!

This place is the restaurant of the 5star design hotel Navis. Therefore the service and design is also 5star, so as the prices. If you could afford to have a bit overpriced food in great quality, then it is your place to dine. Keep in mind, that you also get an amazing view for your money.Recommended!

Unbelievable. Dinner, 7 course menu with wine pairing. Yes, we visited many Michelin awarded * Restaurants in the past, but this is really exceptional. The combination between meat and fish, the courage to serve non standard combinations - perfect. Even the wine pairing was perfect, just the red wine was not cold enough, but this is a minor issue. Service was great.Hard to believe it has no *. If you enjoy regional great and fresh food with great wine, take the 7 course menu with wine for about 100 Euro p.P.

The quality of the food is still excellent in this small restaurant, located on the road from Matulji to Kastav. I especially like the nice, tasty and sometimes unusual cold fish appetizers, which are on display at the entrance, where you can choose the combination of any three of them as your first course. The fish is always fresh and perfectly prepared. The house wine (both white and red) is very good and the service is friendly and efficient. The place became very popular, for obvious reasons, so it is a good idea to call and book your table in advance. The prices are slightly higher than before (around 20 percent), but it is still a very good value, considering the quality of the food. This is an unpretentious place, with excellent food, good service, convenient parking and fair prices!

Dined in when staying there. The restaurant was excellent with good service and stunning food. No menu, the waitress asked did I like meat or fish, I said both so had a mixture.Great fish starter, comprising four different items all excellent. This was followed by a lamb pastry which was a bit like a samosa.Main cause was grilled fish and this was followed by a trio of desserts again all great.They offered wine with each course which was very good.
