Had the best Italian food ever! The authentic house where the owner/ chef and sommelier wife live is so charming. The sauces are amazing. The fish so fresh and presentation beautiful. We couldn't stop eating the freshly-baked bread and also ordered more primi piati after the secondi piati. This feels like home cooking with 5 stars. Paolo is a fantastic host with a warm smile and lots of great stories about his restaurant. Don't miss this gem!

This restaurant (ristorante) is located at the edge of city-center.When you enter it, first you might underestimate this restaurant. The interior design is looking quite simple and not luxurious. But more important is what will come then or next...Fast we received the menu and got well informed from Federico =co-owner, who has served us.The choice of excellent wines is extensive.Remarkable: All are offered at fair (!) prices.Fresh bread was served. Tables have table cloth. And we got textile napkins. For starters we ordered " crudo misto di pesce", 22 €!"Cappellacio di orata con gamberi cotti e crudi", 18€. ( Ravioli, home made). The ordered red wine, " Barbaresco", 36,00 € from Marchesi di Barolo, was of perfect quality and taste, offered at an unbeatable price! For main I ordered grilled Tuna. The quality was average. It was accompanied by fried potatoes (average) " al forno". 25,00 €.The cook (also co-owner ) is named Valerio. He has done a good job. These offers, quality and preparation you will find very seldom.I am sure that we will return!I can highly recommend this restaurant! Credit cards will be accepted. The toilet is really clean! My subjective rating:Presentation of meals: 4 pointsQuality and preparing of meals: 4-5 pointsAmbiance: 3-4 pointsValue for money: 5 pointsToilet: 4 pointsOffers: 5 pointsGrazie della visita e anche dei suoi preziosi consigli a presto Valerio e Federico

A tiny fish bar, 4 tables, near the harbour, run by lovely couple who provide a very limited menu of delicious, original, local fish dishes. Local herbs, home cured tuna, light, delicate "sauces". Reasonable price. We went twice and worked our way through the menu. Our favourite. Don't miss it.Thank you Robert and Chris. It was a pleasure meeting you!

I was visiting Altare because my family came from this little town of glassblowers. This restaurant was recommended by a cousin that had visited town a few years ago. We were not disappointed! We had an excellent lunch, everything fresh and tasty. Our waiter spoke perfect Spanish, so he could explain every dish in perfect detail. And our surprise was even greater when he said he was born in our own country, Uruguay!!If the main dishes were good, the desserts were exceptional. I had the best chocolate volcano ever!!!Congratulations, hope you have many years of good work ahead of you!

Had great expectations given the positive reviews but nothing from food to service or ambiance really surprised me given the bill. May be just an unlucky night. Hello and thanks for the review.I'm really sorry that the expectations weren't met.We keep the prices under control but we are not a cheap restaurant and we are very careful about the success of the dinner.Unfortunately, when you eat raw fish and wine from important bottles, you can't have cheap prices. But I treasure your considerations and hope to see you again to make you think again.See you soon.

The best dining experience on our trip! The previews were absolutely right. You have to have dinner here, if you are a foodie, you should try the tasting meal. Everything is made fresh with great respect to the ingredients. I opted for the a la cart dish -rosso gambero. So happy. Prawns tasted like lobster. Super delicious. My husband opted for the tasting menu. Equally happy. It's good because we shared all the food. Half bottle of wine, prosecco. Just the right portions each time. The owner treats you like family with warmth and passionate about making your meal. Be warned, Italians savor their meals. Make a reservation if possible or come early to occupy one of the 9 tables! Although the staff doesn't speak English, and we don't speak Italian, the owner made every effort to communicate with us. This enhanced our Italian experience. The food was fresh and full of flavour, especially the bread. It was also very good value for money. Would recommend to anyone wanting a full Italian experience.
