Down this little side street off Piazza Salandra you can find this small dining room. Keep "small" in mind here when you are planning because it fills up fast. Here Giuseppe and his son serve their simple local fares, always delicious and often nutritious. They are super friendly and will ask you a million questions. But they are genuine here. Often they serve special dishes very typical of the area, always using local ingredients in season. The prices are extremely economical and the locals like it here too. Yes there is a old LCD screen with the TV going all the time! :( Yes the decor is not special: but its a good solid family place.

We were perhaps the first to arrive apart from a kids party inside and the staff sitting outside made way for us. We appreciated the guidance of the waiter and went with his suggestions. A joint starter, a fish pasta primi, 2 mains, 2 coffees and a bottle of wine was 64 euro. Thank you for choosing us, we are happy.

I discovered this restaurant/pizzeria by searching a nice place to go for a pizza on Tripadvisor and I went with a group of friends. The restaurant is quite small but well furnished, the waitress were professional and very friendly, pizza was very good....the price at the end of the dinner was a surprice.

We were staying in Nardó for a few weeks to oversee a building project and there are not so many choices within the old city: we had heard the meals here were top notch and we were not disappointed. Pasquale was our waiter on the 2 times we dined here: he was the ideal server! with the second meal he suggested a different wine from the same house, we loved it and guided us to be adventurous.The ambience: refined, elegant, relaxed: the perfect remedy for those cold humid March days we were there. There are several small dining rooms and a hushed atmosphere. So many restaurants don't get the art/decor right...but here the colors and textures and artworks all combine to project a calming welcoming feeling. You could easily have a private conversation across the table, no issue with noise! The food: they LOVE food here, they celebrate food here, the cuisine takes advantage of all the bounty of Puglia but is original, with a global awareness of food trends. One stand out dish I had was a flan of artichoke with a goat cheese mousse on top: lovely and o so delicious! Portions were perfect. Plating was considered and never sloppy. We also had our first taste of lampascione here: this is a seasonal delicacy, a bulb, like a hyacinth, served lightly fried in a tissue thin layer of batter on a bed of rucola. They accommodated the one vegan in our party, but that is relatively easy in Puglia a zone rich in greens, vegetables and legumes.Our serve: Pasquale. Thank you Pasquale, you were never invasive, you were tactful and spoke excellent english, (a nice plus) and made wonderful recommendations.Cost: 3 people with wine euro 80. extremely good value! in Italy the nice surprise is the wines are not marked up to kill the budget, so each of our bottles on the nights we ate there were euro 15 each and excellent. Go here! Enjoy! treat yourself.

The reviews are great, we couldnt get in on our first attempt as they told us it was full. (I now have my suspicions if that was true)So we booked with high hopes.Its a beautiful looking restaurant (apart from the toilet seat that needs replacing). The service however was strange and uncomfortable as it was so fast. Plates were delivered one at a time and finished plates were removed whilst the other was still eating (because their food arrived late).There needs to be more choice for children. Children are not easy so why not have at least one simple solution perhaps a pasta with a simple neutral sauce. The waitress suggested a swordfish. Ok we took it but it arrived exactly that. No potato, no chips Nothing. We took mussels (obviously cooked) raw tuna (obviously not cooked). Should be simple to serve both at the same time but apparently not, the cooked dish arrived 2 or 3 minutes before the uncooked dish. For primi we took 2 daily specials and again they arrived 2 or 3 minutes apart. The restaurant was not busy and even if it was it would be wrong. Its a shame as this was our 8th dinner in Puglia and by a long way the most disappointing. We left without a main course, dessert or coffee and still paid 75 euro. Yes they gave a small discount but that not the point and the pleasure was lost.Innanzitutto grazie per essere stati da noi, è sempre un grande piacere, il nostro locale vanta di grande disponibilità e facciamo solo ed esclusivamente pesce. Per i bambini purtroppo non c'è una grande scelta se non mangiano il pesce, non ci possiamo rimproverare nulla e non è un posto dove si serve tutto, ma tutti i bambini mangiano pasta al pomodoro o cose semplici come calamari fritti, tonno, pesce spada. Sul menù non c'è scritto che il secondo viene servito con il contorno se così fosse stato me lo avrebbe potuto rimproverare. I nostri primi sono fatti al momento ed è normalissimo che servendo paccheri, linguine e gnocchi ci possano essere due minuti di ritardo, ma lo ha precisato lei dei 2-3 minuti, non stiamo parlandi dell'era glaciale. In ogni caso, grazie per essere stati da noi. Del vostro giudizio ce ne faremo una ragione.

Un peu plus : je nây entrais pas à la vue de la devanture... déco on ne peu plus simple... la télécommande de la TV sur une table.. pizza correcte... mais oh surprise alors que dans les premiers dans le restau : aucun dessert en stock ! Même des desserts glacés façon METRO... décevant ...

We arrived here on the word of locals and were not disappointed. The staff were most helpful in meeting requests and we followed their suggestions. While not extraordinary, the food was very well-prepared, the house wine was good. The bill for the evening was most reasonable.

We had dinner with some friends. The chef suggested a variety of dishes and wines, so we followed his advice. Nothing was a better choice: the food was outstandingly good, dishes we never tasted before. Local wines, a pleasure to enjoy! Danilo, the chef, was presenting the menu himself: this is a dinner to remember!!
