Good entrees, their pasta is great and leaves enough room for a second course, try the steak for 2 or dorade!!!it's a small restaurant with even smaller kitchen so when busy it's could take them some time...... but definitely worth the waitthey have a nice choice in grappa too ;-p

Extensive menu of meat and fish. Cozy furnishings. Easy reservation via website. Reservations are recommended. It's always busy so that says something about this restaurant. We requested a table near the children's corner.Normally priced. 2 small comments in the online booking we asked a question if there is available a booster seat for our grandchild. Unfortunately we got no answer. Staff generally friendly. A lady had her day out and threw the plates on the table. That was a bit unfortunate and there we had not experienced before. But despite the restaurant remains a must.

We recently visited this restaurant for a special occasion, having selected this restaurant online. We started off well; the waiter was nice, drinks arrived rather quickly and the restaurant got busier quickly.After not yo long though we already got the starters, making us worried that we might have to leave way too early.. We tried to stall the main course in which we succeeded just about. The waiter got less friendly, I guess he had double booked the table and we were definitely not planning on leaving early!In the end, he seemed to get a bit frustrated.Food quality was okay for the price charged, service seemed great but didn't keep its promise. Sorry, really haven't made up my mind about this one yet!

Restaurant is located in a small street and looks from the outside as a regular house. (in fact it was a house before it was turned into a restaurant). Very extensive menu. Besides the regular menu, they have (estimate) 30 additional items for ordering. Quality of the food is very good. Also an abundance of side dishes are served with the main course for free. Prices are very acceptable and staff is informal and friendly (but servie oriented). Only downside was that at the time i visited them it was apaprently extremely busy and the waiting times between course was way to long for my liking. i consider that an exception otherwise it wouldn't have been so busy...

We had received a voucher to eat here. Our previous experiences had not been great but decided to use the voucher to have lunch with our daughter as it was her birthday. Delighted to say that the service and food were very good. We had a lovely, long, leisurely lunch. Would we return? Yes. Could it improve? Also yes. Service could have been sharper.

I had visited Kalkoentje several years ago and had more or less forgotten about is. But when a friend invited me to his birthday celebration there I was very surprised! Excellent food and wine, in various original presentations. Outstanding service, attending to the special needs of some of the guests. I absolutely will be back!

Service was fast and friendly even on a busy Sunday night. Sushi is fresh and made to ordered (some rolls may be prepared earlier but still good). The menu allows you to order 5 items at a time each order round. The sushi lists items like salmon, tuna, white fish, seabass, mackerel, eel, shrimp, roe, and even meats like steak, duck, and chicken. There is sushi nigiri, rolls (seaweed and cucumber), grilled meats, tempura shrimp and vegetables, salads, noodle and rice dishes. All you can eat for $22.50 Euro with a extra cost items listed and drinks extra. Great place to fill up on good quality foods. Go early to avoid crowds as this restaurant can fill up easily and a wait can result.

Went here with a big group. The fact that there is big sign in the same colors of a traffic sign saying "3 course menu for 29â¬" says everything. Place is very noisy and full due to the price. Service is very amateur. And the food was ok, but nothing remarkable. Not returning soon... Pity.
