The value at ocean basket differs significantly between branches. I frequented this group as my safe go to restaurant on trips at least twice per week mostly all over Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo, but since they started charging me R50 to replace starch with a side salad, they lost me. Their food is normally fresh, well prepared and very tasty at most of the branches, with a very good wide variety of seafood on offer, but have become quite pricey and lost the value for money offering in my eyes. Meaning I'll still go there, but only if there is no acceptable alternative and am prepared to pay a bit more than I think it is worth.Service is mostly typical franchise waitering, jeans and takkie brigade, with here and there a star but mostly very average.If I have to rate best and worst - best service and food I had at Ocean Basket, was in the Kolonnade centre in Pretoria. Worst food, presentation and service by far, was in Cape Town Waterfront, with absolute non-care attitude as well.

This ocean basket has been my favourite for a long time. But lately I'm not so sure. Been there twice in the last 2 months and not only has the quality of food taken a bit of a dip, but the service has become slow. Staff are friendly though and the portions are good. I was invited to a 50th birthday dinner at the restaurant. Very easy to find and secure venue. The setting of the restaurant is stunning especially during sunset. The restaurant is in an old farm home so lots of space and little private rooms for a meal.The service is great and very friendly. The wine cellar is good but wines are expensive (minimum 200% higher than Makro wine prices).The menu option for starters, mains and deserts are really great...not a full menu though.We shared a chicken liver starter which was prepared well and the plating was poor to average...so i will go with the taste. For mains we had a fillet with sweet potato mash, and my son ordered a salmon medium to rare and came very well done.The plating was very poor for a restaurant that sets itself as fine-dining. The taste was average and the price was over the top.Not a place i would visit again,.

My wife and I went for supper there one weekend last month. Very pleasant ample parking food superb. This is a well organized and great ambiance to have a nice romantic dinner with your partner. Good service very ample portions and tasty

I wanted to go out for a good meal with the family. After looking into the various offerings at Centurion Mall, we decided on O' Galitos. This turned out to be a very good choice. The ribs are absolutely deliciou sand I will seriously recommend them to anyone that is so inclined. Presentation of the meals are beautiful and you know the meal is going to be good from the moment it arrives.
