Its stylish décor gives away that the restaurant is both Michelin-recommended as well as got 13 points by Gault-Millau, so the expectations were set.
The asparagus were overcooked, but still retained its good flavour. The dessert of banana & chocolate was fine. The accompanying white wine paired well with the dishes.
Service was OK, and the bill came to 45 EUR including a small bottle of mineral water.
Perhaps next time again.

We were on the road and I used trusty tripadvisor to find somewhere casual and tasty for lunch and this place was a *huge* hit with our entire group of 6. The menu is basically Dutch pancakes (sweet or salty in a thousand different ways so there's something for everybody). This was by far the best place we tried for Dutch pancakes on our two week trip. It feels new inside but also casual, inviting, clean. Our server was so sweet and kind and friendly. And the surrounding neighborhood is delightful - we wandered for half hour or so after lunch before we hit the road again. Highly recommended and thanks TA for an awesome rec!

Absolutely the best steakhouse in the region.
On a cold tuesday evening the place was totally booked. We were lucky that we booked our table in advance!
We ate here with a international group of collegues from different European countries.
They still keep talking about this meal when we meet/mail or phone with each other.

La Provence offers great french classics in a perfect atmosphere. Chief van Iersel as a long history in prepping great diners accompanied by some of the best wines. It's Worthing taking a detour to enjoy Zaltbommel and La Provence.

This restaurant in historic village of Zaltbommel is small but serves really fine food. The owner is open and honest, the service is great and the free ouzo when you sit down is always ice cold. The grilled meats are well prepared, all have different seasoning. Portions are big and big enought to share if you're a small eater.

Inside the historic part of the ville fortifiée Zaltbommel, La Folie is situated inside a stately manor house. The restaurant is both Michelin-recommended (two couverts) as well as having 13 Gault&Millau points as of 2017.
The amuse-bouches with Asian-exotic touches were all carefully and wonderfully prepared, and gave hints of the skills of the kitchen brigade.
The five-course menu kicked-off with a fresh starter of tuna sashimi and cucumber. The combination was perfectly balanced. The first entremet of lobster tempura was a piece of culinary art with superb flavor. The second entremet of sea bass with (intensely) pickled vegetables was less impressive but still enjoyable. The main dish of veal and sweetbread was simply terrific with high quality ingredients. The dessert of strawberry and ice cream was a fantastic closing of a nearly perfect meal.
The wine list offers a fair range of mostly upper-echelon wines. We took the Vie di Romans chardonnay 2014, solidly priced at EUR 82.50, which was a good companion throughout the courses.
Service was friendly and professional. The bill for two persons including sparkling water and coffee came to a scary 219 EUR. But with a more modest wine the typical bill would be about 180 EUR. Still by no means a bargain, but given the quality of the food here, reasonable.
Overall: closest to excellence in this class as I've experienced.

Awkward high chairs... staff not very accomodating when requested to change to more comfy chairs even when these were not busy. Food mainly nibbles taated ok but miserly very small glasses of wine for the money is a bit of an insult nowadays.
Conclusion: waste of good money.

Great atmosphere, good music. People are warm, kind and courteous. Is a small location, but is a nice place for low profile nightlife.

We wanted a glass of wine but the only wines by the glass were cheap crappy ones. Most of the optics were empty, just 3 bottles of Bacardi and a bottle of whiskey on view. Probably because they don't want to display the cheap qualit spirit brands. We settled on a cappuccino and a water from an unfriendly server who didn't even smile. The place is sparsely decorated, plain and no atmosphere. No radio or music. Wouldn't go back.
