My boyfriend and I went for lunch.. I had the Weird Science sandwich and "loaded" potato soup.. Which was NOT great at all. The sandwich was good but the soup was water! He had the city slicker and he thought it was good! Nice atmosphere but I wouldn't say it would be our go to place while in Ohio.

We stopped in this afternoon for the first time as we traveled all the way to Wooster from Naples, FL. We tried both the beef brisket and the pulled pork and found both meats to be absolutely amazing in taste as well as generous portion. The owners wife was in the restaurant and over heard me telling the cashier that it was our first visit. We were impressed when she personally stopped by our table to welcome us to the restaurant and to ask if we enjoyed our meal. Great place, great food, great location!

Weekly take out, Pad Thai, Mixed Stir Fry, Egg Rolls - always! It’s always the same top quality in packaging, warmth, and above all taste! This restaurant is so consistent with all their dishes the corporate chef has to be complimented as we have been to other locations and to have such complex dishes with almost no variations is not easy to accomplish.

The Henry Station

Their cuisine is traditional Hungarian, German. It is very authentic east European as it compares well with dishes we have had in Germany, Czech Republic and Poland. The facade of the restaurant is deceiving and we almost didn't eat there because I though it would be a greasy hamburger joint. I'm so glad we stepped in and look at the back dining area along with reading the menu. We only tried out their Hungarian dishes but saw others eating beautiful salads and great looking sandwiches so there are many good options for a good price.

Reviewed By sister-cousins - Wooster, Ohio

When discussing restaurants to be found in Wooster, The Henry Station was recommended by friends. European style food. Pizza. Pleasant converted gas station. And readily handicapped accessible. Now was the time to try "accessible". We parked right in front, but be aware this parking area is limited. Ramp was easy to negotiate. Tables are located on this same level, but many more at a one-step down -- lit and clearly-marked by yellow tape.

Now for the food, I chose the day's special soup, fish sandwich, and sweet iced tea. Husband chose a nice big grilled chicken salad. It was after we had ordered, that I realized European dishes were listed on the menu's back which I had missed. There were also daily specials listed on a board that we had missed and that our waitress had not mentioned. I only say this to explain why I did not go with the European dish I had originally wanted. I almost called my waitress back to try to change my order. Obviously, I did not. We will return to try a goulash or paprikash and also to try the pizza.

My European was the Hungarian mushroom soup. Delicious and husband liked his taste of it too. Fish sandwich was generous: I took half home with me. French fries accompanied my sandwich. Yum!!! Freshly cooked with no sense of having been previously frozen. Husband enjoyed his salad.

The service definitely could have been better. My soup was not served first, rather it arrived with my sandwich. Perhaps blame belongs to the cook staff? We weren't in any hurry, so no worries. Our waitress did refresh my iced tea without being asked by me.

So, tasty food, friendly staff, and no loud background music to prevent conversation.
We plan to return soon with grandkids for pizza.

Olde Jaol Restaurant and Tavern

The Olde Jaol facility was built in 1865, and was claimed to be the finest sheriff facility of its kind. In 1977 the Wayne county sheriffs department was relocated across the street to a new facility. Subsequently, the old jail was registered as a historical landmark in 1980 and in 1995 The Olde Jaol Steakhouse / Tavern was given life. We have an excellent reputation for quality and service.Today, the Olde Jaol houses the finest in food and hospitality. We recommend our Certified Angus Beef® steak entrées. Only 8 percent of beef is tasty enough to meet the brand’s high standards. It’s simply the tastiest, juiciest, most tender beef you’ll ever have.

We love to have lunch here whenever we are in Wooster and the weather permits eating outdoors -- it's really one of the few places you can eat outside in Wooster. This time our family sat under the big white tent they have set up over the patio. It's a beautiful view of the golf course from there and their Pub menu has lots of draft beers and yummy lunch choices. It's a special place!
