Buena Vista

A smaller restaurant, close to city center, located under a villa (practically a basement opened to a garden in summer. Cuban style food, the food could be better. I used to go there for cuban soup (Sopa Negricaldo was it called I guess) and excellent Burger. Visited this place many times over past years.
The siting outside in the garden is excellent, it's beautiful and quiet place. Also kids are welcome.

Very good food. We were staying in the hotel and after lots of cycling and walking decided to take the easy option and eat in. We were not disappointed. The dining room was an interesting old room and surprisingly uncrowded. Our food, wine and service were all very good. Michelin star no but good for 4 hungry cyclists.

Took the opportunity to visit this famous restaurant and we were not dissapointed - very good food. Took tagliatelle with salmon, duck breast, beef soup, hot cherry desert with icecream.
Main trick of main dishes are great souces. Desert was great and rich of taste as well.
Prices are not low of course (comparable to Prague center), but still worth to visit and try!

Radnicni restaurace a pivovar Jihlava

This restaurant was a nice surprise regarding everything. It is a wait-to-be-seated restaurant which is not very common in the Czech Republic. Interior is elegant, you can also sit outside. We really appreciated the professional staff that offered free coffee as a compensation for their small mistake. The restaurant offeres daily menu even on weekends. Gluten-free dishes available. The prices might be little higher but the food is very tasty, nicely served and quickly made, even when the place is full. We also liked the homemade beer that you can take home in a plastic bottle. There is nothing to complain about concerning this restaurant.

Hotel Slavie

Reviewed By Petr K

This restaurant and hotel belongs to the most rich guy in Pelhrimov and is a nice example that you cannot buy everything with money. The interiors are really excellent, the pizza upstairs is also ok l but it is not a big deal to make a good pizza and smokers are allowed here after 9pm :-(. The restaurant downstairs offers common czech menu for reasonable price and sometimes the food is ok and sometimes terrible. Somehow I have often here the feeling that the staff does not really love the job and just does it for the money which does not happen to you in restaurants ran by the owner himself (to explain my 1st sentence). Overall Slavie is for me #2 restaurant in Pelhrimov mainly thanks to the pizza.

Bistrot de Papa

Reviewed By warman_cz - Prague, Czech Republic

Well...just imagine a lazy sleepy town in the middle of almost nowhere. If it had been on Wild West, there would have been bushes rolling through its streets on Saturday afternoon. Simply imagine a regular Czech town with some interesting places and summer laziness around. And then...here comes the chef.
A man who left big cities and possible fame behind and moved to the countryside to enjoy himself and to let others enjoy his art. Remi Decroix – a man, who brought some class.
The bistrot is quite small, but there is all you need. Cosy environment guaranteed. Few tables in front of the bistrot with large sun umbrellas, a French flag and cannot let you with doubts about where you have come to. In the first room, there are two or three smaller tables and a showcase, where every single piece of local French masterpiece is shown. Offer here varies from traditional quiches and crepes, which are served hot with a portion of tasty salad to desserts you never can choose from, because you simply want every single one you can see there. You can buy variety of wines, pates, salami, sausages, lemonades etc. here as well. And yes, the fabulous vanilla and chocolate ice cream is on sale here as well. Locals come with thermo mugs for it, that good it is.
But when you want to dine, you will probably go through further. Passing by kitchen, where you can have some chat with the chef, you will enter a smaller lounge with more tables and children’s corner as well. Everywhere there is some decoration related to food. Liquor bottles, spice boxes, pictures showing all kinds of vegetable you can imagine etc. It does not feel overcrowded or intrusive, it simply works here.
The main meal offer is rather small, but again you will have some troubles to make your choice. It’s written on a black board, so everyone have it in sight. Usually there are two soups. One of them is always onion soup. Go for it. Delicious, amazing, superb...you will remember it. The other is daily made and you can find spinach, zuchinni, or other vegetable creams there.
Main courses are usually made of two regular meals like beef bourguignon, or pork stew with plums and similar great stuff, which will definitely bring you in the middle of sweet France in no time. Then there are some salads on the list (the one with goat cheese is ... okay, everything is good in here, feel free to add you own adjective here). And my favourite ... the end is made of French style steak tartar. This is my beloved meal here. It is so delicious, that even the best chocolate is boring compared to it. I like the way it is seasoned and could imagine to have a diet only with this meal for some time ;-) Oh yes, and it is served with French fries ;-)
Presentation of meals is really important here. Nice rustic dishes make you feel like eating by your grandpa. Side dishes are served separately and in nice small pots. French fries will come to you in cute small frying basket, which is quite smart way how to serve it.
Well, it may seem that there is nothing wrong around here, but there is one thing that should be improved and I am always wondering, why it is still so weird. It is the service. Waitresses are ... somehow confused or disoriented or whatsoever. Sometimes it took ages to have your meal on table, sometimes they try to bring the main course before starter, sometimes you are almost finishing your meal, when drinks come... well, it is annoying and definitely not good. You can hear them talking and then you are sure that they are confused and some of them have no idea what to do.
Remi, if you read this, give them some kind of training, or make some decision about, who will take care about which part of the bistrot, then it will be okay. Now it is silly that so great meals and ideas are sometimes ruined by girls’ incompetence.
Oh yes, and I would almost forget. When you plan to make a visit on weekend and enjoy your lunch, be sure to make a reservation, otherwise you may be surprised that there is no free table for you. It is that much popular.
Resume: definitely worth of a visit and another one and even some more as well ;-) but do not take waitresses too much seriously, they have better and unfortunately worse days as well.

Young, nice but non-professional crew. Soup was good but not hot. Interiers are stylized into modern way, but on the second sight not polished for a long time. One table was occupied by owner, he created mobile office in the restaurant.
Main dish was the same as soup, without added creativity:( i think that near restaurant Tri knizata is better, we will try this again tomorrow.

Honoria Restaurant - Chateau Heralec

A wonderful castle hotel is only half as good if it doesn't have an amazing restaurant that offers exquisite gourmet experiences. You will no doubt always remember our castle restaurant for its unique atmosphere that it owes to its location within the castle, situated in the oldest part of the building. The culinary experience in our luxury restaurant is enhanced by our classy dining and beautiful, hand-made glasses and chalices that remind one of the Murano glasswork style, each individually colored to resemble stained glass windows. These masterful replicas of ancient chalices inspire everyone to drink from them. When it comes to food, we prepare everything with love and passion, being great advocated of the slow-food movement. The concept of our restaurant's gastronomy derives from the best of traditional Czech cuisine, combining it with fresh and modern inspirations. This way, even the most demanding guest is satisfied. We try to utilize as many regional ingredients and products as possible, something that is immediately palpable in both the smell and taste of our foods. Our ambition is to cook without any chemical additives, artificial coloring or flavors and with as many fresh ingredients as possible. Our wonderful staff will ensure that your culinary experience is absolutely satisfying. 'Cherries on top' of our gastronomy services offering are things such as our huge collection of French wines from Bordeaux, large selection of Cuban cigars, delicious desserts and picnic menu. Our tip is for you to try one of our exclusive tasting menus!

The hotel restaurant introduces local-sourced, seasonal cuisine at it's best. We are talking Michelin star candidate here, I think. We stayed three nights, had dinners, breakfast and occasional in-between meals and did not encounter a bad experience.
If you combine with the hotel stay, it's guaranteed to impress your significant other.
