If this restaurant was in Budapest, it would get raving reviews in foodie publications (maybe it still does), and would be full all the time. And would be 50% more expensive probably. However, it is in Veszprém, a pleasant provincial town about 100 kms from the capital. Do not miss it, if you are in Veszprém or in the neigbourhood. The setting is lovely too, in a pleasant valley, next to the local zoo.

Great place for dinner. The veal was very tender and spiced great and it was poured over dumplings. The chocolate soufflé was awesome too. Loved it so much went back again and had the garlic shrimp. Great but you may want to get a starter for that one not very filling.

One of the best restaurants in Veszprem is located in the suburban area. It is close to Balaton. GUSTO13 used to be a pizzeria and nowadays the Italian dominance is still obvious, but the menu offers different cuisine as well. You can try the menu and the a la carte; the waiter will gladly answer all of your questions. If you attend at one of the restaurant's wine event, you'll get to meet famous Hungarian wine makers, who present their products, but if you're just in for a dinner, you'll still get to choose from their rich wine collection. I took my english husband an in-laws to this restaurant for dinner to impress... it didn`t work.
the service was very slow.
when commenting on the thickness of the ravioli (really very thick) we got the explanation that it was home made. really bad answer as if home made it should have been perfect?
my beef cheek was served with quinoa mixed with goat cheese, a really rich and heavy side for the already heavy beef. beef was tasty, but the quinoa wasn`t nice at all. everything was a bit too salty.
the waiter took away one of the plates while the others were still eating...
way too expensive compared to places with better food and service, won`t come again.

Very good modern interpretations of Hungarian food in appropriate portion size at fair prices. Location is great at the entrance of the Veszprém castle. Waiting staff need to smile a bit!

a great restaurant in Veszprem with a lot of gluten free dishes.
they have there many kinds of meat, pork and chicken dishes. and even pizzas but they were not a gluten free.
very good, the kids enjoy the meals there and so do us.
the price are very good and not expensive.
after a trip at the Veszprem zoo, Fekete bors etterem is a good place for lunch.

There is an amazing large awning that occupied the majority of the courtyard dining area. This means that there is no need to keep moving around to get the shade on a hot day. The tables are set out so that there is plenty of space for everyone.
The menu and wine list are very good with a good selection of dishes for all tastes. As I have found out since being in this area of Hungary the white wines are excellent so I would recommend these over local reds.
Service was great and do not think the meal will arrive quickly because all the dishes we had were freshly prepared (allowing time to savour the wine)
It is not an easy place to find but well worth the search

Though a wee place in the heart of Veszprém's downtown, I have approached this bar many times since my university years just like afterwards. Amazing coffees and nice, keen staff with seasonal / monthly meals and discounts. Highly recommended for a cup of tea / coffee either a great breakfast or toast.

Has the dinner menu improved, or did I just not read it properly last time?!! I think it has improved, with more choice, and more things I want to try. Still struggles a bit for atmosphere, but the food was very good and the service has always been excellent. The restaurant doubles as a breakfast room, and I think it is more comfortable in this role. Breakfast food is also pretty good.
