If you want to enjoy an excellent Hungarian kitchen with a breathtaking view on the lake, do not consider to visit.
Summertime, if you go, please make a reservation and you will get a nice table with view.
Reasonable prices, tasty food and quite quick service.
My favorite: "Betyarbatyu"
We do return here time to time.

PLACE: Nice interior, good service, just next to the main road nr. 7 (Budapest-Balaton), enough parking place, 5 mins walk from the "Agárd" train station
FOOD: big portions, tasty dishes
PRICE: mid-ranged
WITH CHILDREN: they provide child seat, have a Child-menu card for a reasonable price

Good food and excellent waiters. Good place to have good times. They offer different foods so all preferences are served. Good choice to visit in Szekesferhervar.

I have been going back to this place many times in the last 10-.15 years and I all the time get great food. The outlook has been improving year by year. Maybe the staff may smile a little bit more... :-)
I have taken there foreign friends and colleagues and all of them loved the experience what Boglya and the surrounding meant.
We frequently visit this place with the family, only 2 of us, with friends and also for business.
The last time I had a headache and the waiter was so kind to bring a painkiller for me. So they strive to keep you well in all hospitality senses.

So this place is one of the biggest surprise... The food and drinks quality is really good! I think this is the place where you get the best quality food in this area, and if you take into consideration that this is a very small place with just a few table... They r doing a good job.
So if you want a delicious waffels or a really nice coffe, visit them!

The restaurant is in a small village not far from Budapest, on a hilltop with great views, in the middle of vines.
Unfortunately we could only try soups as nothing else on the menu was available in spite of the booking we made a day before:-( Apparently they had a larger group the day before. Soups were delicious, service impeccable, but how can this happen??
The restaurant has a great offer of vines but no beer.

In our cuisine you can find standard, genuine Hungarian dishes but you can also choose the specialities of the place. The restaurant also offers vegan dishes. We think of families with little children, too, with the ,,Dish of rascals". During your stay here a corner for kids is waiting for your children. A garden attached to our Terrace makes your stay here intimate.

Walzer Restaurant and Guesthouse is situated in the town of Velence, about 45 km from Budapest, very close to highway M7 and Lake Velence (which is on the other side of the highway). It is easily accessible by car, all the other means are in quite a distance (bus stop is approx. 200 metres, Velence railway station is 4 km away).
Therefore, it has a parking lot. There's also a nice garden with a pool, a sizeable Terrace and a row of cabins with tables to dine outside in the summer time.
The place is not wheelchair-friendly as stairs lead to the entrance and all the rooms are upstairs. Also, the rooms (at least those I have been to) aren't too spacious. I missed the proper air conditioning very much, as there was only a standing fan in the room, fixed on a shelf in the corner with screws. That wasn't really effective during the night. Our room and generally the place was neat and tidy.
We went there for a wedding and spent one night in the guesthouse. It was obvious that the management is experienced in hosting weddings. They easily cooperated with the other services (e.g. decorateur, florist, cake maker...), so their contribution was an asset to have the event going smoothly.
On the day/night of the wedding only the invited guests were in the guesthouse (otherwise it could have been disturbing that due to the shape of the building some rooms opened to the same terrace). Due to the special occasion, the place was 'open' way after midnight (generally they close the entrance at 2300 hrs).
Service was fine as far as the meals were concerned. However, it happened regularily that we had to ask for water, juices and spirits (those drinks which were stocked for this very occasion).
We were served a traditional Hungarian wedding menu and everything (from the chicken soup to the stuffed cabbage at midnight) was delicious. Next day, after the wedding, a buffet type breakfast was served with simple items (this was part of the wedding package, because usually breakfast is a la carte and is not included in the price).
The place is kid and baby friendly, and accepts bank cards and Hungarian holiday cards.
All in all, it was a pleasant stay.

An Italian guy runs this place providing authentic Italian pizza and dessetrs. The coffee is also great. Very friendly place, nice environment and good prices. I guess it's one of the best Italian pizzerias in Hungary.

If you like gyros and want to get the same quality for affordable prices, you must taste the food here. The owner keeps on re-investing part of his earnings to ensure standard quality, huge portions at affordable prices. The queue in high season certainly supports my views, that it is worth to give a try.
