We were introduced to this cafe by our guide and it was exactly what we wanted. Everything is made fresh, organic and washed in purified water (says so in their menu). It is run by a California woman. Continental breakfast, juices, teas, etc... everything was good.

Located near a very busy, colorful market street, Shree is an oasis of calm. It is little bit crowded with a mix of locals and tourists, but not bothersome. The decor features beautiful black & white photos and simple tables and chairs. The food is traditional vegetarian, not creative, but plentiful. A neighboorhood gem.

We went here because of the rave reviews. We have eaten in many vegetarian restaurants over the last 2 months in India, and the only thing this place has going for it is that is cheap. And you get what you pay for. The onion pakora was good, not great. The veg curry was a pile of overcooked veggies stir fried with a teaspoon of curry paste. Just plain bland, not taste at all. The thali had decent dal, the same bland 'curried' veggies and some cold aloo preparation, again very bland. Breads did not appear to be home made. The place was almost empty, two days before Holi. Maybe its time has come and gone....

Kashi Chat Bhandar is a very old eating joint. It serves lovely snacks which are extremely delicious. Must eat the Tikkis, Tamatar chat.

Great little cafe located on a side street amongst the local hustle and bustle that serves a huge range of dosa and other South Indian cuisine. Perfect if you want to try some new dishes but note that the portions are quite big! The owner is lovely too.

I visited this restuarant for breakfast and dinner. Both occasions service was fabulous, food was quick to be served and the service was wonderful. Was made to feel very welcome and the prices are very reasonable. We even got breakfast delivered to our hotel in the very early hours of the morning before our next bus trip. Greatly appreciated all the service and friendly atmosphere from this family restuarant. Would definitely recommend.

Was searching for some popular places to dine and we came across Kerela Café and guess what, it didn't disappoint.
I basically liked the place as it is
a) Clean and the atmosphere is fine.
b) Always filled with people, which is good.
c) Has average waiter service.
d) Cost effective, reasonably priced.
e) Nice place to eat with friends and family
I basically tried Rawa masala dosa, curd rice and cold coffee with ice cream.
The famous rawa masala dosa leads up to it's charm... Crispy with the punch of coconut. Absolutely yummy. Though the nariyal and badaam chutney could have been better.
Cold coffee with ice cream, well it's simple and the vanilla ice cream subtly blends with the bitter coffee and feels joyous to your gustatoreceptors (read, taste buds).
Curd rice is fine and light.
Do visit kerela cafe if you want a south indian plate in Varanasi...
