Flying Cow Bakery and Cafe

We stopped here for lunch based on other reviews. Service/staff very efficient and friendly. This is a deli/bakery, so please be aware that the menu is mostly sandwiches, burgers, and salads. They are not open for supper.
I had the chicken basil panini and it was great. My husband had the Turkey dinner sandwich (I am not sure if this is the correct name). It had Turkey and a cranberry sauce dressing. He said that it was good and interesting/different. We both got fries which were fresh, not frozen Ore Ida.
BONUS: sitting right on the Susquehanna River. There is an EXCELLENT paved walking path along the river right across the street from the deli. Very scenic.
Overall very good. We would return if we were in the area.

My husband and had dinner Friday. My ravioli were housemate as was the sauce and meatballs. Everything was delicious. At least 6 choices of cakes and cannoli. I had a cannoli cake and my husband had a chocolate cake. Both were wonderful. The complimentary bruschetta is the best I've ever had?

I was surprised at the DD merchandise inside...shirts, mugs, cups, sweatshirts. Was disappointed that there was no drive thru and had to bring the kids in.

The RiverStone Inn

While passing through we needed somewhere to get dinner on a Monday night.. most choices were closed so we ended up at the Riverstone. They had a beer and wing special that was so inexpensive we had to get it. The wings were fine ... not the best we've ever had but not the worst... and for the price you really couldn't complain . It was clean and offered an extensive menu as well . It certainly filled our need for dinner and if we are ever passing through again we'd go back.

Villa SENA

Reviewed By VTLongTimeTraveler - VT

There were 13 of us for dinner, and the Villa Sena accommodated us in an area that was semi-private and a bit snug. The property could use some updating both inside and out but was comfortable. The other residences on the ling drive don't enhance the ambiance. The service was outstanding. Lacey took great care of us. We were served efficiently but were never rushed. The food was uniformly good, very much what you'd expect of a decent but not great Italian restaurant. The experience was just what we were looking for.

We went for a bike ride in early fall with beautiful weather. We didn't know where to eat. We saw Papa V's and since pizza is usually a good choice we tried it. We were not disappointed. Friendly service. Very tasty pizza, good prices. Free wi-fi. Quaint little Italian restaurant. Recommended.

Red Rose Diner

The red rose diner is under it's third owner ship. It opened in towarda, pa in 2003. It spent its previous life in stroudsburg, pa under the lackawanna trail diner and jerry's. If you search the red rose diner you can find lots of youtubes and articles about the red rose diner and gordon tindall who refurbished this diner. He brought it to lancaster where it was painted in 2000 by joe long. The current owner is retired so he does not count a revenue from this venture. He looks at it like being the keeper of a light house.

Reviewed By ANNAMARGARET B - PORT ALLEGANY

This 1927 diner was moved from Stroudsburg PA to Towanda in the 1990's after restoration in Lancaster where it came by its name. It is small, but charming, with many original features including old posted prices for yesteryear's offerings of such delicacies as lamb's tongues. Stop in the tiny restroom to see the stained glass. We drove by after lunch, so only stopped for coffee but were compelled by the recommended peanut butter pie, which, approaching cheesecake did not disappoint. Yummy! Prices were reasonable and our server was very personable, so this step back in time was a well worthwhile stop.

Woody's Ale House

Reviewed By Mary Jane S - Pennsylvania

Passing through the area around lunch time, we stopped here because of info given about the quality and also plentiful parking (hauling a race trailer with an over-sized pick-up truck), That part was very easy! Server greeted us so pleasantly, and we found the space charming and comfortable (it is huge). Menu covers all the bases, and had we not been driving we might have enjoyed some of the ambitious beer listing and also a ton of wings. As it was, we enjoyed our meals immensely: open-faced pot roast sandwich with mashed potatoes and a patty melt with terrific fries were amazing. Had enough for late night snack. On our "Return To" list.
