Very good food. We were staying in the hotel and after lots of cycling and walking decided to take the easy option and eat in. We were not disappointed. The dining room was an interesting old room and surprisingly uncrowded. Our food, wine and service were all very good. Michelin star no but good for 4 hungry cyclists.

ThIs was a bad experience. I had tagliatelle with pesto; there was hardly any pesto - just a few bits of old basil and olive oil... it didn't taste like anythingat all. My friend had a trout with mushrooms. The trout was undercooked, some bits were a still bit raw... When we complained to the waiter; he suggested to mix something else into my dish because pesto is not supposed to have a strong taste and he didn't comment the trout... Don't get me wrong, he was definitely not rude, however, we would appreciate at least an apology. Offcourse, we had to pay for everything eventhough I ate one spoonful of the tagliatelle...

Having just visited the adjoining Telc State Castle, it was easy to discover Svejk Restaurant Na Zamecke tucked beneath the southern wall. While relatively deserted, we were able to find a somewhat diffident English-challenged waitress who agreed to hold us a table for dinner that evening.
The atmosphere of the long, bar-like premises was not too encouraging, but our choice of Czech favorite - roast duck served with dumplings and sauerkraut, certainly compensated, especially with the satisfying beer choice.
Even our surly waitress had thawed by the time we completed our meal...

Nice restaurant under the tower in Telc. It has a couple of cosy rooms indoors and a nice long patio overlooking a garden. It serves regional Czech food, but with a slight twist. It is a bit more inventive than other of the traditional restaurants in the area. Their kebabs are really very good. The meat is tender and juicy and very flavourful. What they call "rich garnish" is an abundant side of shaved fresh carrots, a tasty cole slaw, some purple cabbage, lettuce, corn and peas. Their honey cake is excellent. Friendly service and very good value.

I got one of best lattes ever in this cosy little cafe! You can choose the coffee-bean from a good sortiment or ask for suggestions from the waitress. The homemade apple strudel was delicious and leafy.
If you like handicrafts, step on in the cafe and look up to bags and sachets made by cafe-owners wife. They are very personal and beautiful. I bought one and I am very happy handbag-owner now :)

We were greeted by a very friendly waiter who took our order with a smile. The service was efficient, and the food was tasty! Pizza was served hot, however the base could be slightly crispier yet the toppings were flavoursome.
On another note, a couple arrived 20 min before closing time. And unlike the pizza place 100m down the road (who was highly rated) who rudely chased our party of 4 away 30min, this restaurant kindly offered the couple takeaways.

We ordered pasta but unfortunatelly the quality was not satisfactory. My friend and I both returned the food. Maybe we were not lucky as the other reciews are quite good. Or maybe the restaurant is only good for local Czech food. Definitelly not pasta. At least the personel was nice.
