We made a reservation to meet out of town friends at this restaurant for its first seating.

From the moment we sat down, we felt rushed. The 2 servers were cold and gave an aloof vibe.

Food was fine but overall dining experience was tainted by this attitude. It was not the pleasant dining experience that we had hoped to have.

Bridge View Tavern

Stumbled onto Bridge View Tavern a while ago and had a great experience, so when was in a neighborhood again, went for a return visit.
What a wonderful, unpretentious place with great service and good food! A real neighborhood gem.
Everything was delicious - onion soup had lots of tasty cheese, "build-a-burger" was cooked just right, Disco fries did not disappoint, and chocolate lava cake flowed delicious chocolate.
The atmosphere was so cozy and friendly, and you could really see the bridge out the windows!
The best part was our waitress, Patti, whose services we enjoyed on the previous visit as well. She really knows how to welcome guests and make them feel appreciated and taken care of! She stopped by often to check on things, see if we needed anything, and just to share a joke or a kind word. Really made our visit special.
The plentiful meal with soft drinks, shared dessert and two coffees was just over $50, before tax and tip - a great value!
Looking forward to coming back again!

Let me start by saying that this place has some great outreach programs for coffee growers and is also green. I didn't have coffee but the hubby had just a regular drip and he enjoyed it. My gf sweet potato corn muffin was unspectacular and dry- I don't know if they bake on the premises but I'd offer my pumpkin chocolate chip muffin recipe if they wanted to see how good gf can taste. On the other hand the hubby practically inhaled his pecan sweet roll. It's a small place and it seemed like a lot of locals are regulars. A nice experience!

Let me start by saying you must make a reservation online two months before you go and you really should do it as the clock strikes midnight. We had a 6:30 reservation which we thought might be early, but since the meal took 3.5 hours, it was a perfect time. It is an expensive dinner, but if you know that going in how could you be surprised? My wife and I do not drink and our bill came out to $690 which included to extra $10 no-alcoholic cocktails.

You are treated extremely well from the beginning. The valet service takes your name so that you are greeted when you get inside. As you leave at the end the inside tells valet so your car is waiting. The courses are delicious and presented in a unique and fascinating way. The servers are knowledgeable and friendly. There was a brief intermission in which you are brought to the bakery in the next room to learn about their bread and watch somebody make some.

My wife and I have some dietary restrictions and we were taken care of with deliberate attention and detail. I would like to go back one day, but the price makes it difficult. I would definitely recommend, though.

Lefteris Gyro

Reviewed By Cin4513 - Havertown, Pennsylvania

My coworker and I were in Tarrytown for business and since she drove it was my job to figure out where to go for lunch. The choice was easy- the number one rated restaurant in Tarrytown on TripAdvisor- Lefteris Gyro. We got there around 11:30 on a Monday and there was no one else eating there yet. We both had gyros and we were served immediately. They were delicious! The meat was very tasty and tender. I wanted to try one of everything! When we left the place had filled up and the food on other people’s tables all looked great. The town is cute and I would definitely come back the next time I’m in the area. The place is really nice and kind of small so I’m really glad we were able to get in and try it.

Santorini

Reviewed By cecesimms - New York City, New York

I have never been to Greece. However, Toronto has a large collection of Greek restaurants in a section of town called the Danforth. New York City also has a cluster of Greek restaurants in Astoria. I have enjoyed many chicken souvlakis in the former, exspecially. I make my own spanakopita. I have attempted moussaka twice at home (much easier to have someone make it for you). I am telling you all this because I am trying to let you know that I do not say this lightly. This is the best Greek food in the greater NYC area. It is better than any restaurants I have been to in Astoria. The only thing that is better are some of the places on the Danforth. We specifically planned our day to drive up here and go to dinner. In this latest visit, I had a salad to start, which was enormous, but I appreciated the freshness of it, and the dressing in particular. I heartily enjoyed as much pasticcio as I could manage, and took the rest home with me. Then there was the lovely pita. Perhaps the generous servings were the reason why I wasn't able to make it to dessert. Highly, highly, highly recommended.

this was a special occasion for a friend's 60th and I was hoping for something special. Very impressed with the service from the get-go. Got a couple calls from them to confirm time, ask about food preferences and allergies. Parking's an issue but that isn't their problem. We had fabulous food - chick pea appetizer (kind of fried, very tasty), excellent bread, kale and greens salads (both superb); hanger steak was the best tasting steak I've ever had; i enjoyed a bite of my wife's swordfish; my duck lasagne frankly was just so-so, kind of dry and tired but it didn't detract from the meal; good wines, good beers, good desserts, friendly and informative service, nice place

Sweet Grass Grill

Reviewed By Danny L - Tarrytown, New York

The staff at Sweet Grass are very welcoming. My friend and I were walk-ins on a busy night; we were greeted very warmly and a table found. The menu is very interesting, with a hint of farm-to-table and several vegetarian and organic options. Soups and salads are very good, but so are the burgers, both meat and other. The ginger-marinated calamari is a huge favourite of mine and always beautifully cooked, wonderfully tender. Tables are quite close together and the noise level rose as time passed. They have a decent selection of wine and often quite unusual craft beers. I wish they served espresso, though the French press coffee is a reasonable replacement.
