We visited this place twice and the second visit was becase we saw the the food which the restaurant served.
First time we ordered only radler and enjoyed the view on the super green grass.
Second time we ordered wiener schnitzel and the schnitzel was very good and the size of the portion was for two and not for one person :-)
I can recommended this place on your trip.

This restaurant serves a very good food in various formulas (half-board, a la carte, candlelight,...). Beware that the capacity is limited, so the hotel guests have a priority -- it is logical, given that the hotel aims at providing an excellent level of service to its guests.

Had occasion to spend two weeks in the Rax Alps and very quickly ran out of interesting places to eat. Lots of places serving well executed Austrian specialities but after awhile they all started to blur together. Then we happened upon the Belvedere. Located in a small ski resort hotel in Semmering, there were a number of daily specials listed focusing on the seasonal wild mushrooms from the area. It was the best meal I had in the time is spent in the area. We went back a couple of nights later and were equally pleased with the experience. Our waitress knew a little English (actually more than she let on) and was delightful. Very fair prices and excellent food. Search it out when you are in the area.

A very fine dining experience- an alpine walk, meticulous smart service, sitting on the balcony enjoying a stunning view...high quality cooking with very good fresh ingredients which was a very reasonable price- not to mention the intriguing building by one of the great early modern architects. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

Nice Austrian alpine cabin with a small menu but homemade food (try the Enzian burger or the homemade soups). It is situated in the middle of the Zauberberg sliding coast!

Ein netter Landgasthof mit einigen lieben Tieren, auch zum Streicheln für die Kinder, wie die kleinen Häschen. Es gibt auch einen Kinderspielplatz, der vielleicht etwas besser gepflegt werden sollte, denn der Sand in der Sandkiste war sehr hart und für kleine Kinder nicht zum Spielen geeignet. Die anderen Geräte waren soweit in Ordnung. Das Restaurant ist sehr groß und daher für Gruppen mit Buffetessen geeignet, ansonsten ist das Personal etwas überfordert. Die Qualität der Speisen ist soweit okay, sollte aber verbessert werden. Der Parkplatz ist groß die Umgebung sehr schön.

I liked the old style 'Austrian countryside' charming decor of the place with waitresses dressed in the same old fashioned typical way. The large menu was happily translated by the head waitress.
We had an excellent pumpkin soup with the special Styrian pumpkin oil (we had to buy some after, it is so good) and also a great garlic soup.
Our meal was copious and delicious, we tried deer in different recipes. Our friend took the trout and found it one of his best ever.
A very good choice in the village; easy to find in the center, just off the main road.

the restaurant belongs to a nice hotel and specialises on pre- or après- Meals for the Theatre Crowd . but for Nature loving people there is ample opportunity to hike the beautiful Semmering Rax region

Zum ersten mal ausprobiert und der ganz besondere Tipp für diese Region. Hier wurden wir gleich beim Eingang sehr freundlich mit unseren drei Söhnen empfangen und uns alles erklärt. Man kann mit eigenem Equipment oder mit Leihausstattung von Lokal fischen. Man hat die Wahl zwischen einem Teich mit kleineren Forellen und einen zweiten Teich mit größeren Lachsforellen, was sehr praktisch ist, da man so die gewünschte Größe für das Mittagessen oder zum Mitnehmen selbst bestimmt. Auch ein Pluspunkt: wenn man einen Fisch am Haken hat, darf dieser nicht zurückgeworfen werden, um den Fischen Qualen zu ersparen (ich war nie ein Freund von Sportfischen), sondern wird nach Wahl ausgenommen und mit Kräutern oder Knoblauch gefüllt (!) um ihn mitzunehmen; oder man lässt ihn sich zubereiten. Eine perfekte Kombination, da man so etwas für zuhause hat und gleich im Restaurant fangfrisch essen kann. Der Koch hat hier natürlich Erfahrung und "lässt nichts anbrennen" - perfekt au point hinbekommen und für die Kinder ist es auch eine Erfahrung zu sehen wo das Essen herkommt... Sehr zu empfehlen, besonders mit Familie! Unbedingt reservieren, da das Lokal entsprechend nachgefragt ist..

Great typical Austrian dishes at the top end of beautiful Semmering trails, from where (a hopefully sunny terrace) the surrounding Mountains and hilltops can be viewed. Huge portions but, if you make it there on foot, you should be hungry. Good beer and local wines too; and very nice, quick service. Try the Surschnitzel and, to finish with, the Heidelbeerstrudel (you might want to share that one..). We shall definitely return!
