Had coffee, cake, beer, soup and flamen kucken (taste flambee) in this cafe on numerous occasions. Good food, service and value for money.

The food, the atmosphere and the lovely owners make Schwarzwaldhaus a standout in the area.
The food is typical southern German fare done really well. Whatever you choose, you will enjoy it. Cooked by the better half of the ownership team and done the right way.
The atmosphere is true black forest. Think wooden panels inside and a small garden in the sun with plenty of flowers outside.
The service is typical of the area, kindly and somewhat reserved - don't mistake this for lack of interest or lack of care ... folk are just a little less effusive down here.

Possibly the best cafe for miles around. Great homemade goulash soup for example, more like a stew than a soup, a complete meal in a bowl. Then there's the cakes! Great selection of traditional Schwarzwald desserts, including the Black Forest gateau, plum pie, cherry pie, apple strudel & a raspberry cream pie that looked amazing. Staff were very friendly, and spoke English as well as German. Sensible prices too!

Wow, what a beautiful place. The food here is really good has well as the delicious beers made here. They also make a very interesting single malt whisky. Really a great place to eat. and after you eat tour the grounds they are spectacular.

Nice restaurant, with potential also during the winter season when food cannot be served outside on the ample Terrace facing the lake. Unfortunately, the taste and the presentation of the dishes was just "OK" compared to the prices (the "ravioli" were not quite at the level, with too much oil and garlic, the schnitzel was instead tasty). Attentive, but slow service.

I have been to this cafe many times with my family and have enjoyed their excellent cakes and tried to overlook the generally unfriendly and unprofessional service but my last visit... will be my last visit there. The waitress was visibly stressed in spite of the cafe being perhaps 1/3 full. She became irritated when we wanted to move inside when it began to rain. Once inside her attitude worsened and when I attempted to help her by offering to take a plate out of her hand and set it on our table she barked 'Lassen Sie es!' at me like I was her disobedient dog. As I say, the cakes are great, but the service - 2 times out of 10 it is tolerable, the rest of the time disgraceful. Only go there if you enjoy rude service and an unwelcoming reception, and like being treated as though you are an unpleasant interruption to their day.

Since reviewing Bierhaeusle two years ago, we've visited a few times. It has been invariably excellent. Back in the area for the northern summer and made it here as quickly as possible. The place is a few km out of the parking lot, the way is quite even, so everybody can make it there.
The Terrace is nice if weather allows to sit outside, it is self-service (like Starbucks) and still they manage to be slow. Later, when more people showed up, this changed to very slow; and don't expect friendlyness.
The food was good though. I did not pay, so cannot say if overpriced or reasonable.
Toilets were clean.
