Sarawak (/səˈrɑːwɒk/; Malay: [saˈrawaʔ]) is a state of Malaysia. Rajang River is the longest river in Malaysia; Bakun Dam, one of the largest dams in Southeast Asia, is located on one of its tributaries, the Balui River. Mount Murud is the highest point in Sarawak.

Places a bit crowded in the morning with the locals. However expect some mouth watering laksa, mi goreng, kolo mee & a lot of others locals delicacies. Had always been our favorite spot for breakfast !
If you are ever in Kuching make sure you allocate some time to have breakfast here.

Our family of four ended up eating here 3 nights in a row. An amazing array of seafood at very reasonable prices. The oyster pancake (we sampled this dish from 3 different stalls) was unforgettable. This was our favourite place in Kuching out of the many places we visited.

Our concerns about this restaurant located next to a garage were quickly put to rest as we walked through the front door. The decor and water features are most welcoming. We were warmly greeted and seated in the back dining area. Our server was excellent as she patiently explained the menu and made great suggestions. We let her know that one of us is very allergic to shellfish and she revised some of our order to avoid any problems. The food was excellent and there was no push to get us out even though most tables were reserved.

Don't let the narrow walkway and rambunctious regulars intimidate you as it is perfect for quieter nights out. Since 2008, Backstage has been one of the most popular night spots in Kuching. Choose your poison and dance the night away. If you want something milder, head next door to the newly renovated Living Room. Interesting place. Mix of interconnected historical buildings with great ambience. It is packed with museum style collections, heritage, junk, paintings, artefacts. They serve good food as well and it is served in huge portions. Great place to have a meal and a chat in a quet and unique restaurant.

Though at night this place is lively with patrons and the latest hip music, it is actually a fabulous place for lunch!
You are spoilt with the choices availabe (Indian, Western, Asian) and the taste is good!
My kids favorite there is the pizza. I love the pork belly (ask for their sambal belacan) as well as the beef meatballs with min yoghurt!

Strategically located near to the waterfront. Most impressive is the price. All items are very affordable here. For those who budget conscious, there cannot be a better place to dine. Service is very good.The lady with glasses does a great job in handling customers. Those from West Malaysia will be happy when they they compare the prices, especially for those from Klang Valley. Couple of tables are made available for sitting outside .
The only drawback is the fruit juice. Too much water is added resulting in complete dilution. Better to order canned drinks or hot beverages.

Topspot is literally the top floor of a multistorey car park. It gets hot, I understand is Halal but you would need to check. Lots of seafood and some chicken dishes. Very busy and not cheap stall food by any definition. Car parking obviously easy and very short walk from all the big central hotels. It can get very crowded.

Small family owned kitchen putting quality and taste high on the agenda. We try to keep our menu short and sweet with guest dishes rotated in for something different. We serve our very own version of Swedish Meatballs with classic brown sauce, fantastic sausages, tortilla wraps with various fillings, and an irresistible Swedish dessert Mockarutor. We are now operating at Food Parade at Saradise, BDC. Our meats and chicken suppliers are halal certified.

Indah try to produce events to especially provide a platform for Sarawak artists. Art classes, indie movie showcase by Sarawakian & jewellery making classes are also available. Six doors way is our Homestay, which has two rooms with aircon & ceiling fans (around 300 sqf each room) & sleeps eight people. It has two toilets, two showers with hand held & rain shower (hot & cold water). There is a kitchenette with electric cooker, toaster, fridge, kettle.

This place opens at 08:00 and closes at 17:00 and catered almost entirely for the foreign community with (excellent) Vega, Vegetarian and Meat based foods all priced accordingly - we had a coconut based muesli and a sweet-potato curry with Roti and a couple of juices which was RM$30 - so very good but expensive by local standards. The manager is very friendly and helpful and makes a fantastic Coconut Shake and / or a Banana Shake.
They also have accommodation and also run cookery classes which we did not try.
My verdict: great local food and a great selection of vege and vegan food in a lovely little side street in the centre of town with great staff ..... but relatively expensive.
