Dos Hermanos Restaurant

Sometimes you just get lucky.
My wife and I have traveled extensively and have tried so many mediocre "Mexican" dishes.
Sos Hermanos in San Miguel is the real thing.
Flavor, spice, salsa all combined to deliver exceptional experience.
I can't say enough about this place.
I have been disappointed so many times by other spots.
Service outstanding
Friendly
Don't pass this place up.
Honestly, your going to thank me!!

We had an amazing dinner starting pasta with wild boar ragu. We continued on with veal chop topped with Porcini mushrooms and filet of beef. Both outstanding. This restaurant is expensive but the food was very good. Don’t miss an opportunity to dine here while visiting Paso Robles and be sure to make a restaurant. Enjoy!

This is an intimate dining experience, don't expect piles of french fries, but this is french cuisine at it's finest. I have various food allergies and they were very accommodating. I had the butterfish with a citrus vinaigrette and my husband had steak with a red wine sauce. They were both delicious. Many desserts were gluten-free too. It's not cheap, but well worth it for a special occasion.

I wasn't expecting much from this modest little place just off Highway 101, but my Club Sandwich was a pleasant surprise! It was so large that I took half of it away for lunch the next day.

This is strictly an American place, so don't expect anything ethnic except for the bottle of Tapatio hot sauce on the table. You can walk in from the rear parking lot past the kitchen where you can watch the owner cooking.

With your sandwich you get French fries, or fries made from sweet potatoes, or (as mumbled by the inarticulate young waitress), a "sshehhduttdd," which means a "substitute," which she said could be a salad, so I ordered one: Lots of local greens.

They have local wines and beers, too, though I didn't try any because I was driving.

A good place to break your journey.

Anyone traveling on Highway 101 in central California between the Monterey and the Paso Robles/San Luis Osbispo areas should definitely check out the very tasty pizza at this restaurant. Located on the main street in San Miguel, about 1/2 mile north of the San Miguel historic mission. The restaurant has some nice outdoor seating/dining as well as a spacious dining area. The pizza has a great crust (not quite thin and not quite thick), a wonderful sauce, and very fresh toppings. I had the Godfather pizza with white sauce, garlic, pepperoni, mushroom, tomato, Italian sausage, and green onions. It must be something about California, but I swear the veggies are just so much fresher and tastier out here! :-) Again, this pizza place is DEFINITELY worth a stop if you are driving on Hwy 101 or training at nearby Camp Roberts.

Had high expectations for this place... great ambiance and nice wine selection. Likely a different experience had we ordered differently (others raved about what they have had or were having). We each ordered the Hatch burger and were disappointed. Was a literal hot mess... fell apart, undercooked, sloppy. Bacon over-whelmed the flavor profile - as was super smoky, greasy (no crispiness). Might go back if ever in town again, but would surely order differently.

The Ranch Nightclub & Restaruant

Reviewed By XK140NUT - Santa Clarita, California

Going thru Paso Robles around lunchtime, we wanted to avoid the overpriced and crowed restaurants of Paso. We drove just a little further north to San Miguel, a one street town. There were several restaurants listed in Trip Advisor, but we could only find one and it did not look like much. We had passed "The Ranch" on our way thru town and not finding the others places, decided to come back. It has a very rustic, western front and did not look like much. The server had just put out their specials for the day, Al Pastor taco, a burrito and something else. The place was dim and large, but there were several people inside, mostly locals. The menu is all mexican. The chips were warm and the salsa is a red pepper spicy sauce. It was outstanding! I ordered a carnitas burrito, without rice and beans. I am glad I did. The burrito was hugh. The carnitas was cooked perfectly and the green sauce in the burrito was excellent. I think this is one of the best burritos I have ever had. You can order it dry, which I did, or wet. My husband had the special, Al Pastor tacos. He got 2 tacos filled with just meat. It was seasoned perfectly, in red spicy sauce. The tacos came with rice and beans. It was excellent.

We leaned they make all their own sauces and salsas on the premise. Their speciality is chili verde and it takes them 8 hours to cook it. They will not serve it the day it is cooked as they put it in the fridge overnight so that all the seasonings have a chance to blend together. Then it is ready the next day. Had we known this, we would have had this as chili verde is one of our favorites.

During the night this is a night club so there is a stage and dance floor. The restrooms are large and very clean. There is a full bar and pool table. Seating is at tables or the bar. Since this is a night club so don't expect a lot of ambiance, it is hugh inside. like an airplane hanger, exposed ceiling with ventilation shafts showing. The decor is funky and bare bones. Fine for families for lunch. We will definitely stop here again when in the area.

For our first visit to Palo Robles, my buddy and I ordered the signature dishes - Brazilian seafood stew and linguisa sausage paella/ risotto, and they really hit the spot.

Arriving reasonably quickly (these dishes are prone to long waits) and perfectly sized for 1 person, we gobbled every bite. With no alcohol, we were out the door for about $45 prior to tip.

They also had a nice string band on this Sunday, adding to the charm!.
