Having lived thru and partied thru the 1980s, the Red onion was ubiquitous. The Redondo Location was great for dancing and dating, and this PV location still has the happy vibe, the fun place to visit energy, albeit more in line with the more mature crowd, as let's face we are now more mature. Great food, and notably great drinks.

A casual neighborhood hangout serving affordable home style Euro-French cuisine
We love this little gem tucked away in South Redondo Beach. Food is always great and service couldn’t be better. The only thing I would say is come early because the parking lot is pretty small.

I usually go here when I am in the mood for breakfast and all the breakfast places are closed. They have a full menu.

Love this place! I live in Germany but when visiting relatives in California I love going here for my morning coffee. Such friendly people , nice selection of breakfast foods- all served with a friendly conversation and a smile. This is your local hangout and they know their loyal customers!

It's one of the dining options at the Terranea Resort Hotel in Rancho Palos Verdes.
We booked for Xmas but ended up cutting our trip short. Quantity rather than quality seems to be the maxim here. Overpriced, poor quality and tasteless food was the regular output of the Catalina Kitchen and vegetables were scarcely seen at the buffet style meals. Bar service poor and bar staff unable to serve a decent gin and tonic. Overall a dreadful experience never to be repeated. Only saving grace was the restaurant staff - especially the young male manager/supervisor.

A friend of mine and I decided to meet and have lunch at Mitsuwa in Torrance. I introduced him to Okonomiyaki, which means "how or what you like." It sort of a pancake with a variety ingredients. He had the squid and shrimp version, I have the beef and pork. It was served on a sizzling cast iron plate and the portions are large. We agreed that both our lunches were delicious and we had enough to take home for another light meal or snack. Then we went shopping. Mitsuwa is a very large store and they carry tons of stuff you cannot find in most super markets. I never seem to leave without spending a goodly amount on Japanese inspired cuisine.

While I'm not a local, I stumbled upon this place while searching for breakfast at a place that didn't have an hour plus wait. You'd have to make a serious effort to leave this place hungry. The portions range from a lot to huge. I saw a ham steak that was about an inch thick and as big around as a hubcap. I ordered biscuits and gravy, received two and was full after eating just one. They also serve homemade salsa. It was delicious and had a nice degree of heat.

Established in 1963, Torrance restaurant and cocktail lounge serving prime rib, steak, and seafood.
Can you go back in time? You can at the San Franciscan. I'm not sure if it was the surly waitstaff, the lipstick red booths, or the average age of the bar crowd, but neither the menu nor the decor have been updated since the late 80's.
The food is generally fine, especially if you consider quantity for the price an important measure. $20 in food will be more than enough...

Welcome! Since 1945 Handel's Homemade Ice Cream & Yogurt is made fresh every day on the premises. We use products, equipment, methods and recipes exclusive only to Handel's. Each batch is made in freezers specifically designed to create Handel's distinctively smooth and creamy texture. Our philosophy is to use the best ingredients available, and always in abundance. WE NEVER SKIMP! Handful after handful of fresh nuts, creamy caramel, rich dark chocolate, fresh fruits or marshmallows are poured into individual batches as they are drawn from the machine. This exemplifies the special care given to preserve the whole identity, flavor, and quality of each premium ingredient used. Handel's truly enjoys a rich history and a tradition of excellence. What makes Handel's so good? Plenty of T.L.C. goes into every scoop!
I have been hearing for months how fabulous the ice cream is here and we finally came down to check it out for ourselves. Fabulous! Fantastic! Amazing! If you love banana cream pie get that flavor. It is soooooooo good. Chocolate fudge ripple was pretty awesome too. Good stuff. Will be back soon!

Our friends love going to The Appetizer for dinner. We joined them this past year. We found the food good but not outstanding; a bit on the expensive side for what it is. That being said, the pizza is some of the best you can find in the area. Staff are down to earth.
