I have been coming to Purtell's here in Pinconning, Michigan, for many decades. I love their tuna sandwiches on rye toast and I love the ice cream. For my money there is no finer creamery for ice cream sundaes. My favorite is the Kitchen Sink with four (4) scoops of ice cream and all of the various topping you so choose. If you are running North or South on I-75, turn East into Pinconning and visit Purtell's. You will not be sorry.

#1 restaurant in Pinconning according to the reviews on Trip Advisor so we stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner on Sunday (11/20/16). There was a good handful of people there and the young waitress was very pleasant, fast and appeared to be enjoying her job. We placed our order and with the special my wife ordered, she also received the salad bar, which was nothing to write home about at all. Not that we expect hundreds of items, but it was pretty sparse. I order pan fried cod which was very greasy/oily or whatever and the breading was falling off because of that. It had a good taste but it was dripping the oil it was pan fried in. Because it is a bakery also, I expected the roll that came with my dinner would be fresh, and it was at some point but they did nuke it to heat it up but even that didn't soften up the bottom half, very hard and crunchy...I've never had a dinner roll like that before. My wife ordered the beef stew over biscuit special and it was very salty. Now she likes salt but even she couldn't eat more than a few bites. When the waitress asked how our meal was she did tell her how salty it was, and what looked like the head waitress or manager of some sort (who was walking by) told her that yea, a few others have complained about that also. DUH...now why would you keep serving that without correcting something if there had been other complaints???? Our waitress seemed to realize all she could do was apologize but eventually offered if my wife would like something else but she said no. The waitress did her job but if the restaurant and that other person knew there were issues and did nothing about it, that puts them at the bottom of my list and our first visit was our last. We do post on Trip Advisor an awful lot and if you look at my reviews, most of them are very positive because when someplace does well, I think people should know, and when they don't do well, people should know. We took our complaint to them and nothing was done so that lost our business.

I visited here this week on a brief trip to Michigan. We had a cabin in Northern Michigan for many years. My father starting coming here as a boy and I came here as a boy as well. This is a trip down memory lane for me.

Now I love my egg white Omelettes and this place cooked it perfect!! I got a veggie egg white omelette with cheese, tomato slices instead of hashbrowns and rye toast. It came with homemade jelly that was delicious and a generous portion of everything. My friend got a ham and cheese omelette with American fries and rye toast. He took half of his home because it was such a large portion. We had actually driven here because we wanted a good breakfast place and this did not disappoint. I would drive out of my way to get here again anytime!!

Took my daughter and nephew out to PJ'S to show them where I use to go as a kid after school. We each order a stromboli and an order of bread sticks to share. They were just as good as I remembered. The owner was awesome and even brought us out some pinwheels to try. If you get in the area, I recommend you give this pizzeria a try.

Our party got two of their large special with seven items on the pizza. We all agreed it was one of the best pizzas we had ever had. Their prices are very reasonable. Bar like atmosphere. We will be back for sure!

We live locally and visit area restaurants on a regular basis but will be hard pressed to return to sportys due to their poor service. When we got there they were not that busy, we ordered and waited and waited our appetizer fianaly showed after 15 minutes, then we waited for another 30 minutes for our burgers. After questioning waitress, she said our order would be up shortly. By now i have almost finished 2 beers, still no meal. Then the icing was when the table next to us got served before us. They arrived well after we did and they also ordered burgers. WOW, we decided to leave and go elswhere for food. Paid my bill, tipped the waitress and told her we were leaving. The owner was at table next to us, heard everything that occurred and did absolutely nothing. Watched us walk out the door. Maybe when he has no customers will he realize what customer service is all about.
I will be hard pressed to return to this place again.

Mom and pop style restaurant. Breakfast served all day. Weekday specials. As part of a party of six, I had the excellent and thick grilled ham and cheese sandwich with soup. Also ordered the onion rings which were very good and enough for two. Everyone else in the party was happy with the food. Service was good. Would recommend if you don't want chain fast-food.

Pizza is good but a little pricy.... They only have 2 tables inside to eat at... more of a take home kind of pizza place. It always takes a long time to get a pizza they tell u 25 minutes and it's always longer than what they say... Staff is akways friendly

This is a busy location and hopping with activity. The workers are on their A game and get you in and out fairly quick. Our fries were hot and fresh, burgers were decent, order was correct. The employees were friendly and smiling.
