We stayed at Smoke Hole and there isn't food available after 5:00 so we drove to Petersburg. The DQ offers a $5.00 meal all day long, so that is what we had. We couldn't get our phones to work and the owner offered to let us use his. He came to our table and visited for a while. He cleared our table and got our ice cream for us. It was a delightful visit. The place was clean and everyone was very friendly.

Quick friendly service with food prepared as expected. It's a small dinner where I'm sure the locals go. Its charming county atmosphere is enjoyable for sipping coffee, reading the paper or planning your sight seeing day trip. If I'm ever in the area again yes I'll be back. Mallow's breakfast special of 1 Biscuit with sausage gravy and coffee was $7. Enjoy

After a long day of sightseeing we arrived at this restaurant long after the dinner hour. We were warmly greeted and pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the excellent service!

I know there aren't many bars in town so saying best bar in town isn't saying much but it is. I'm from the city and this is as close to the bars I'm used to as it gets. Fun crowd, cornhole out back, open late, CHEAP drinks (compared to what I'm used to) and good service. Didn't try the food but this is a good urban bar in the country.

Stopped here on advice of TripAdvisor. Wanted a quick lunch but not fast food. The place was full of locals which of course tells you a lot. Wished the menu had a bit more selection, maybe it was just my mood. I settled for a grilled cheese sandwich and a bowl of chili. The sandwich had a nice thick portion of cheese and grilled just right. Chili definitely was home made and had good flavor. Staff was friendly.

Stopped in with family members for dinner. They were not busy. Service was just okay. Food was good, but we got our appetizer with our meal and it was not baked long enough. Lasagna was a tad over cooked, side salad was underwhelming. Grilled chicken sub and salad were very good. Stuffed shells was very good. It took a long time to get our food. Need more help in the kitchen and better spacing in getting appetizer first. Overall good, but potential to be better.

Stopped in on a cold, windy day for some soup. They had it listed but were out early in the afternoon. Stopped in later in the week to get soup and a kids sub. Both soup and sub were good. Needed more meat on the sub. Overall a clean place with good variety of sub choices and very good soup when you can get it.

We stopped by while in town visiting relatives. They were steady when we arrived. Servers were doing okay, but as it turns out the kitchen help was not good. We ordered two cheeseburgers, one with chips and one with fries. It took about 40 minutes to get our order and there was only one or two orders before us. The bun was not toasted,they were cold and the fries for the one order were lukewarm at best and under cooked. It was like it was a rush job. The topping on the burger were good and the meat was tasty but it took entirely too long and you should toast the buns and be able to get hot and properly cooked fries. They have gone downhill in the past year or two.

Stopped by while in town visiting relatives. We had the Friday lunch special which was hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans. They meat and potatoes were good but only lukewarm. They were busy when we arrived,so we figured that it may have been setting in the back waiting to be brought out to us. The green beans were okay, they were on the salty side. They have daily lunch specials for each day of the week. Prices are reasonable and you get good size portions. It is one of the better places in town to eat.
