Went here for lunch. Similar menu to other San Jose restaurants in other parts of the state. Lunch specials on menu provide a good selection to choose from. Lunch fajitas were good and food arrived hot. Always worth the trip!

We stopped for dinner on the way to the beach. The prices were reasonable, the food outstanding! BBQ was excellent and certainly the star but, they also paid attention to their sides. Amazing slaw & hush puppies. We were greeted by the people cooking outside before we even got to the door, the owner checked in a couple of times while we were eating which is always nice. It was great for the kids, very casual & there was an actual rocking pig in the front of the restaurant that they had a ball on. Go for the BBQ but definitely grab a piece of pound cake on the way out!

Papa Bill's offers some very good BBQ in a very relaxing environment. Although it seems the restaurant caters mostly to take-out/drive-thru customers, there is also a small detached air-conditioned dining room that's both cozy and comfortable. The wait staff is friendly, cheerful, and there to help.

When visiting family in Maxton, Bill's Place is my son's favorite place to eat. Hot dogs and cheese fries with chili sauce. What is so amazing is that people will wait to order even when all the stools at the counter are filled - still the line will be out the door. One of the best kept secret in Maxton.

We have been at Fran's a couple of times with friends who frequent there often. This is a little diner type establishment a little bit out of the way - you probably won't find it unless you are looking. This is not a black tie place with fine linens and doesn't pretend to be. I imagine it is like one of the diners from a generation ago - maybe a little Spartan on the decor, but made up for in food and service.

The food here is good - I understand that Fran is a home cook type. The service was very good and the staff friendly - I could tell with the regulars that it was maybe a little like going home for dinner. I would describe it as quaint. I felt like it was a glimpse into the local culture. They probably don't get a lot of non-locals at Fran's, but they look after the neighbors so that they are always coming back.

You're probably not going to be wowed by the place, but you will feel like you have been among friends and you will come away satisfied. This is probably one of the best values in terms of cost and food quality in this little locality.

No surprises here, folks. Most of the cuisine found here will be breaded, fried, and dangerously bad for you. I had a steak hoagie which was pretty decent. The fries were very hot and crispity crunchity. Very busy for a lunch crowd in a sleepy college town -- mostly locals it seemed. This place is a hometown favorite apparently -- there really is no alternative here other than fast food. Of course, you can cook and eat at home...

A welcome surprise to find Jersey Mikes in such a small town. Staff is very friendly and works quickly to prepare your sub. So many good choices, you can't go wrong. It gets pretty busy at noon, but if you go a little early, you shouldn't have to wait long.

When you pull up, you'll likely question your decision as it doesn't have great curb appeal. Head inside to some of the nicest folks we met while touring the south in our motor home. It was a rainy Monday and they were only serving sandwiches for lunch to include pork chops, hamburgers, fish, BBQ and others. I had the burger and my wife had the BBQ. 1 word...incredible!. 3 sandwiches, 1 Pepsi and 1 sweet tea was $12.00 but the experience was priceless. I wish I lived closer as Blues would be a regular stop for me

I have been to Mariani's several times now for their lunch buffet. I have never been disappointed. The food is great and the staff are very attentive. The buffet is $7.99 and includes salad bar, several entrees and vegtables, and two or three different dessert options as well as fruit. They have a beautiful view of the lake behind the restaurant and a lovely fountain inside.
