Hotel Templ

Good service in English. High quality food - had asparagus in pancetta and guyere cheese then gnocchi and veal. Finished with lemon sorbet and chocolate cake. Really well done. Bread comes with the meal- not always the case in Czech Republic. Wine list is small but local in a great way. Love the Moravian wine.

The Hotel Pavlov has the best restaurant in the area. I tried several places, but this one is far the best. Often there is tasting combination of food and best local wines. I really like that this restaurant does not favour any of them but really offers the best ones. Here I could taste both - the local cuisine for quick lunch and I also had gourmet menu with international cuisine. I also had a great local fish. Sometimes on the afternoon it is great to have a cake and coffee on the Terrace. The village Pavlov is great one.

Cafe Fara

Reviewed By Beatrix T - Brno, Czech Republic

We went to this place with a group of colleagues who were on a visit in the Czech Republic, we were a group of about 10 people. We had a reservation, yet, the staff seemed to be quite surprised when we arrived and asked about our reservation.
There definitely wasn't a table prepared in advance for our group, so sitting down involved a lot of pushing and pulling of tables - I do believe this sort of thing needs to be arranged by a restaurant in advance.
Anyway, we were seated finally, and then came the next difficult part. No one in our group was a native Czech speaker, about two of us could speak Czech and translate the menu for the others, because it turned out there were no English menus available.
So of course, the ordering took a long time, with two non-native Czech speakers having to explain each meal to the others. (And these meals here are not just "meat with potatoes" types of meals, but quite elaborate, so not that easy to translate.)
It struck me as odd that such a famous cafe/restaurant didn't have English menus.
Anyway, we managed to place our orders, and I had no problems with the food - it was tasty, with some interesting combinations of ingredients, and the desserts were positively awesome.
And of course the restaurant is super-nice and pleasant, both its surroundings and its interior.
But there were a lot of bigger and smaller instances of inattention, starting from the half-forgotten reservation, going through things that some of us who used their forks or knives for their starters then had to get up and get new ones from the neighboring tables because after taking away the starter plates and cutlery, the Waitstaff forgot to bring new ones for the main course, etc.
I wouldn't even comment on such things if this was a pub or any kind of casual place, but I get the feeling looking at the concept, the surroundings, and also the prices of the meals that this is supposed to be something like a classy, fancy place, and in such a place problems like this immediately stand out and they left a bitter taste in my mouth.
All in all, a less than positive experience.

To be honest - I don't remember drinking wine in such marbellous surroundings and atmosphere. It's a must when you are in Mikulov. Even if you have to choose between going to the castle and watching it from Barta ;)We thank you very much and we look forward to your visit.

Dobry rocnik

Reviewed By Michlach - Warsaw, Poland

On late Friday evening "Dobry Rocnik" was like a port after a long journey, pulsating with life on a dark see of the main Mikulov square;). Crowded with happy people, serving great wines, cheese, meats, Deserts. A perfect starting point for a Moravian weekend. They were not strict with the opening hours at all;) and I drank the best Palava there.

Tanzberg Restaurant

You will not find a better meal in Mikulov, and the food was equivalent to a fine restaurant in any major city of the world (at a fraction of the price).
Service was pretty good and the wine list offered some very interesting and delicious choices of Moravian wines.
Highly recommended.

I had the risotto and it was ok, nothing to excited about but good enough. The service was also ok, no English spoken but there was an English menu so all was straightforward. Apparently it is not the season for desserts because there were none.

Bowling sport centrum Mikulov

Reviewed By Ivana Z - Kroměříž

After the whole day full of hiking across Pálava we headed physically exhausted but emotionally full of energy for the dinner to this restaurant. Our tasty dinner should have been the crowning moment of the sunny day. For this time I was a little bit disappointed. My trout in battle was too crunchy without flavour. Neither salmon was the best... Apparently fish dishes aren’t their specialities. On the other hand, children’s salad with chicken was appetizing.

Aquarium Relax

Reviewed By taborskyjan - Olomouc, Czech Republic

I visited this restaurant on June 2013. It´s located not so far from the town centre, aprox. 5 minutes of walk (BUT! in Mukulov everything is less than 5 minutes far from the centre). There are lovely Aquariums full of life in the interior, quite new and comfortable furniture and, of course, free wi-fi. Until you ask for anything, it seems well.
When I was there, they were expecting a full bus of turists. Everything was done for them and everyone took care about one huge table and prox. 30 chairs around - no turists have had come when I was there. I had to wait for ten minutes for a waiter. I have asked for a meal and had to wait another 15 minutes until they brought me a DIFFERENT one. And waiting again. I drunk my soft drink and had to wait a looooong time for another. Finally, the meal had come. Quality of meal was average.
When I was leaving waiter seemed to be suprised I gave him no tip :-)
Never again.

KAFE PALA

We stoped at Kafe Pala because they advertised that they roast their own coffee. And we have to say it was well worth a visi!!! Situated inside the block on a smalk courtyard it's a cozy cafe where you can get good snacks and tasty filter coffee. Highly recommend!!!
