Luigi's Gourmet Express & Restaurant has been a Johnston, RI institution since 1971. We offer delicious Italian cuisine from our treasured family recipes passed down through generations. All of our breads and desserts are baked on premise. House specialties include the Veal & Chicken Parmigiana as well as many beef, pork, seafood and, of course, pasta entrees. We recently added Brick Oven Pizza and Gourmet Burgers to our menu. There is truly something that anyone can enjoy on our menu! We have a great wine list as well as many craft beers on draft. Our Gourmet Express offers a great variety of prepared foods, soups, salads, sandwiches, pizza and much more for café dining or take out. Our catering and banquet division can handle any of your entertaining needs either on premise or at an off site location. Locals love this place. Both a full scale restaurant and a eat in/takeout establishment offering everything Italian. Fair prices, generally good staff, generally fast service. Offering cafe style seating on the casual half or restaurant style seating on the upscale half. You can take home or eat in hot meals on the cafe side. You can call ahead for easy pick-up and an online menu is available. Also, they offer deli style food choices with items like eggplant, chicken parm, pasta salad ect....

Powder Mill Ledges is great after spending time on the nearby lake, or maybe after hiking up the road at Steere Farm. It has a great location with picnic tables down by the water.
The ice cream itself is consistently good and served in huge portions. I'm not sure if they've gone through a change in ownership or anything but be warned, sometimes you get flyers for Glenn Beck stuff near the line.

What an amazing dessert place! Their cookies are fantastic-- cute and tasty! The cupcakes are completely to die for; a little steep at $5, but I guess they're made to share-- even though after one bite, you won't want to share!
Their best cupcake is the Down-N-Dirty-- chocolate or vanilla cupcake (very moist and delicious), chocolate frosting (freshly made!), crushed oreos, and gummy worms. Yum!
They also make custom cakes for any occasion-- birthdays, weddings, etc. I haven't had the pleasure of eating them, but if they're anything like their other pastries, I bet they're amazing! There are plenty of binders full of pictures of the cakes in the shop, and they look amazing. Or you can come up with your own design. Couldn't be more recommended!

Our waitress, the Peruvian Camille, advised us to try their special version that night of their Causa Limena which added crab and other unusual things. This was the first plate that was even better than their Cervice Classico. We shared the entree sized Cerviche with a Churasco al Gaucho. For wine, Ali advised us to try their Chilean Calypra Chardonnay..which was a spectacular match for our meal. We had coffee and our tres leches for dessert. Thanks to Diego Curi for seating us, Andrea Curi for her gracious welcome, and my apology to Stephanie for allowing me to switch tables so I could practice my Dominican Spanish. We are eating all of our leftovers for a home dinner tonight.

well,i ordered the eggplant parm and what i got was not that...what i got was 3 very large slabs of greasy, deep fried eggplant that were kinda strewn about the plate, topped with a scoop of only passable sauce, and topped with a minimum of bulk bought cheese shavings...it was offered with a side salad that was good, and a side of pasta that was not only cold but inedible...i have heard many good things about the place, and although many of the items offered on the menu were "no longer available", i might try it again for a small sampling.. i would not go out of my way for this less than good food and snooty service

We ordered the 16 oz sirloin with pepper onions and mushroom and a filet mignon and both were delicious. The service was perfect, the atmosphere cozy. Soups were pasta fagule and chicken escarole. Home runs on both.Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We try our best to please everyone and customers like you help make sure our family business stays in business. 2017 is our 20th year in business!

This store is always filthy. Here at 10 am there is no excuse for it to be so dirty. Not one clean table and the floors have receipts, trash, food and other stuff. Really a filthy store. Ordered a black coffee and it came with cream and sugar.

I really enjoyed my breakfast. Portion sizes were very good. Prices are a little high for breakfast but the cute decor and service make it worth it. My french toast was excellent. My other half has eggs toast and home fries. All were cooked perfect. You will not be disappointed.

Trade Shows are both rewarding and a pain physically and mentally. So, needed some good real food. I found that at Cindy's. Nothing fancy, coffee excellent, sausage omelet great with the pumpernickel bread. I do not remember the waitress name, but I do remember the friendliness and good conversation. It all added up to a warm and relaxing time over a good meal.
