I stopped here 4 years ago for a dinner and it was very tasty. The location pop up in my mind while thinking about where to stop on my way down to Croatia. The room was quite big and looked really nice if I take into account it is only 2 * pension. The dinner was ok again, but breakfast could be continental. However, I'll stay here again.

We've been stopping at istvan's for lunch on our way to Budapest for some years now and we've never been disappointed.
Excellent Hungarian cooking, good variety of dishes plus Pizzas from a wood oven and Czech beer on draft.
Fast friendly service and very close to the motorway.
Highly recommended.

Basically the profile of the restaurant seems creating an absolute authentic local atmosphere with the choice on the menu, where the tastes from Zala state are greatly summarized inside Hungary. Based on that for example you can eat 'Dödölle' only in this region (as base simple food but even a yearly festival is organized in Nagykanizsa for the variations made from that), anyway this is from where the restaurant got its name. We arrived from Poland to have a lunch in May, there was already good weather and were able to sit on the outside chairs, the food was very delicious and also the staff is kind

We came here with small, irritable relatives (children) who just needed some familiar cuisine to prevent them having a meltdown after a particularly long day and late night. The food was good: pizzas, calzones, pastas and coffee. The only issue is that the service is very very very slow- expect about 30-40 mins for food to arrive. This is fine if you're in no particular rush..luckily in this instance, the children's parents had brought books and stickers and this prevented too many tears while we waited...but it's not ideal.
It's worth noting that the town is very quiet and there are not hundreds of food choices- so perhaps a long wait is still better than nothing! PLACC is located on the main square and it's open on a Sunday- both also useful attributes!

The Bank restaurant is in the almost ground level basement on an old bank building on the end of the main square. The owner is very friendly and customer attentive. The food is good. It is kind of standard fair with 3 or 4 daily pre-prepared menu choices and of course you can order from the menu. During the warmer months of late spring through fall when it turns cold they have outdoor Seating along the side of the building. One problem here is that there is not a lot of parking in front of the restaurant. It is just off a main square and usually a place can be found. Food quality is always good and the service is excellent.
