A charming small romatic place with excellent wine and a small but fine series of food. I loved the lamb with polenta and the pancake coated salmon with safran risotto was also very nice, and an eyecatcher. A bit expensive though.

During our short stay in Sopron, we tested the top restaurants here: this steakhouse won't disappoint you (maybe just a bit). Service, pries and the atmosphere are all good, however the steaks we tested were not excellent: maybe this is a one-off glitch, but instead of medium, all 3 were slightly over-cooked. In case of steaks, even seconds count, and these steaks were not perfect, sorry. You may find other food as well, but most probably you visit a steakhouse for the variety of steaks. Wine-list is OK, you can find a good match with steaks.

Primarily a fish restaurant, as the name suggests (Old fisherman), but I can also recommend the non-fish dishes - everything was delicious and the service was also very kind. Worth venturing 50 meters from the main street of Ferőrákos. Decent house wines top the dining experience,

My husband and I recently spent a weekend in Morbisch. We picked this restaurant for dinner at random and were very pleasantly surprised. It has a lovely traditional interior and atmosphere. The menu offered a range of more modern style Austrian dishes with a focus on local produce, especially fish from the lake. We were very happy with the quality of food. I had the seasonal soup for starter followed by tagliatelle with chanterelles, both were extremely good. The restaurant itself can cater for a large number of people and it has an outdoor Terrace which would be lovely in the warmer months. My only negative comment is that our waiter was not very friendly and it felt more like the service given in Vienna rather than the usually friendly service in Burgenland. Otherwise, an excellent dinner.

Just an 8 km drive from Sopron, Hungary
On our latest, recent visit, the owner mentioned that on some web searches the information "The restaurant is closed" appears. This is false, and possibly results from a disagreement between the relevant website and the restaurant. So the restaurant is well, thanks, and continues unabated. The menu is seasonal, and the standard is fine, even if the baked perch was a touch too dry. It is still well worth a detour to have a meal here. As many other restaurants in Hungary, Raspi does not close between lunch and dinner.
A warning: right now you cannot pay with a credit card, you need cash.

Four of us had a relaxed lunch at this establishment on a Saturday. The food is of highest quality, beautifully presented and with a fair price. Worthy of special mention are the Magalica pork and the goose dishes. The waiter was knowledgeable about the food...MoreDear Guest! Thank You for Your recommendation! Erhardt’s Team

Actually we were sailing into Rust and started our tour off at Seehotel Rust, were we left our boat. From there it was just a few minutes walk into the center of Rust where you may find this restaurant. We decided to eat there as it lies within a nice place which makes you feel comfortable. Of course we already expected it to be some sort of touristic as well because of its location but on rare occasions residents want to feel like strangers as well ;-)
We made use of the "Schanigarten" in front of the restaurant which was sheltered with awnings, which was useful as it started to drizzle lateron.
The (hungarian) waiters were due to the fact that they work in a touristic area still quite nice (but not more than necessary) and drinks were served immediatly after ordering. Even for the food we had not to wait very long. We had Zander, Tafelspitz, a small Pizza and chicken nuggets. The fish was o.k., but the Semmelkren of the Tafelspitz was not good at all and I was more than disappointed about that, as it usually has a very good taste. Even the Tafelspitz itself was not what I expected. At least with the chicken nuggets they didn't do anything wrong. The Pizza was quite o.k. as well. Actually tastes are different but with some dishes, like Tafelspitz, you simply have to reach a certain standard. Another aspect which showed that it was not a "real" Austrian restaurant: we had to pay for additional "Ketchup" extra (€ 0,60), which is usually never the case in restaurants. I found this really poor when I spotted it on the invoice lateron.
All in all we paid € 60,-- for 2 adults and 2 small kids.
After all I would not go there again as there are a lot more restaurants and Heurige in Rust to visit which are typically Austrian (or better call it "typical for Rust") and have excellent food and friendly service.
Anyway you may check their homepage: www.haydnkeller.at

A very good local restaurant which has an obvious (and tasty!) Hungarian inapiration and flavour. It is also a family-run B&B in Morbisch. The atmosphere is very relaxed and wellcoming. We saw local families celebrating there, and as it was their choice - it must be (and is) a good sign for "outsuders". Service is good and polite. Waiter gave us his advice (he did not direct us to the more expensive dishes, as waietrs might sometimes do).
It was my first time ever to have a wine soup. Go for it! Tha garlic soup was also unique. The main course was a mix of various meats served there, which is sufficient for a hungry couple(about 22 euros).
By the end of the day - we would surely visit the restaurant again if we are in the area.
