This place is so unusual, and not in a good way. The menu is basic and limited. The style is just strange. They serve little bits of random food items arranged in a pretty way, but with no consistency or seeming coordination of flavours. One of our party did clear their plate, but the other 3 couldnt eat much at all. I left very hungry and went straight in to another restaurant. I had to post this in an attempt to stop people going through what we went through.

My son is vegan, and it was not easy to find vegan food in Menton, so this place saved us in many occasions. The food is tasty and fresh, but the place doesn't really look like a proper restaurant ( the Terrace is ok, though), and one couldn't call the waiters friendly nor attentive to clients needs. But the food does make up for it.

We went to this restaurant as a special meal for my Mum's Birthday. On arrival we were so pleased that the restaurant had made a special effort to lay a beautiful table for the special occasion, petals of roses were scattered over the table in abundance. The food was delicious, good sized portions, we were made to feel very welcome. The fish was perfect! I had the best Baba au Ruhm that I have ever had! Incredible!!
This is a truly stunning restaurant, and deserves the best reviews!
In France you should always contact the restaurants by phone, don't rely on internet booking.

Not the first time we have been here and hopefully not the last. wonderful food well cooked and presented but could do with more accompanying vegetables or dare i say it carbohydrates along with mote sauce and perhaps a little less salty seasoning. If Vlad & David are to survive in Menton they also need to change and slightly expand the menu more frequently. Good luck

This is an amazing beach restaurant/bar with sunbeds right onto the beach. The family that run Da Mitchou are always very welcoming and it has a really friendly atmosphere.
We've been here for the last 6 years or so during weekend breaks in Menton and it is always great to come to Da Mitchou.
It's definitely worth booking at lunchtime - especially Saturdays and Sundays when a lot of locals come down with big family groups.
The food is excellent - lots of Italian cuisine and they do amazing salads.
Highly recommended!

Went here occasionally with my family. Bo be brief:
1. The service was very long, had to wait for all the dishes a lot
2. Food wasn't worth it's price:
- salmon was poorly cut, served with unfitting products;
- the eggplants casserole with parmigana was full of eggplant's water (generally speaking the dish was floating in it);
- the lamb chop was prepared uneven, the meat was smelly (seems like ia was already a mutton, not a lamb)
- But the most surprising was the GREEN potato in the salad, it was obvously frozen.
3. When we told to the waiter that we were disappointed with the dishes quality he replied (!) "no one complained but you, THAT'S BECAUSE YOU ORDERED TOO MANY DISHES"
One of the most bad experiences in my life

We loved this small restaurant with blackboard menu and a few pavement tables. I had gnocchi with pea and mint pesto and bacon/cream sauce. The gnocchi were so light and all the flavours delicious. My husband enjoyed a beef tartare (a Crocantine speciality).
Service was excellent. The owner explained the dishes to us and described the ingredients and their origins. This is a very genuine place offering quality food at sensible prices.
