The food is very good, the facilities are excellent, with nice ambient and music background. The plates are well served. The bar has good service and the staff is friendly. There is an indoor playground area for kids. The location is great with large parking lot, and ease of access. The only minus is that the prices are somewhat high.

Garcia's encompasses some real old school charm! Including some quality service offered only at the kind of private restaurants from days of old. This fine establishment still offers to flambé their prized dishes at table side!
Weather your here with friends, family or a date... It's a welcomed change of pace!

El Ultimo Taco has been around for Decades! This place has been serving street tacos longer than most of their competitors and arguably some of the best in all of Matamoros!!! They serve just about all cuts of your traditional street taco meats! Our personal favorites are tocos de trompo, right out of the fire!!! Second only to tacos mixtos de tripa & bistec! We cant help but to stop here just about every time we pass by!!!

I was told for years that the Santa Fee Chinese just is a great authentic place .. I have to say it is o.k. but nothing more in my opinion. A busy menu with Mexican options and even Paella .. The chinese choices are what you would expect but are uni dimensional .. The portions are big and the prices moderate.

This restaurant has been around longer than I've been alive! Known for specializing in its open fire, Ranch style cooking of whole baby goat; and the many ways of preparing the "cabrito"! They cook an asssortment of other meats as well.
Ask about the charcoal hot plates! They bring your cuts of meats to the table on a hot plancha where you get to finish cooking your meats to your perfection!

Awesome place in downtown Matamoros, kind of reminds me about Colettis in Harlingen. The place looks really nice it has a high end restaurant atmosphere, and the buffet is really good and affordable, about $7 dollars per person. Highly recommend it if you're looking to eat something different in Matamoros.

My wife and I really liked this place. It's a quiet, romantic hideaway in the Jardin section of Matamoros. They recently moved from another location and this locale seems much better. It's nicely decorated and the menu has good options. We got the Giardino salad and were able to share it between us. With wine and entrees, the meal was very affordable. We really liked the cooking and were pleased with the service. We'll return for sure. Good wine list and dessert options as well.

Arguably, one of the best restaurants in all of Matamoros to serve up a local delicacy of cabrito! They open fire grill/roast these cabritos until perfectly tender. Their meats are of the utmost standard. You can have the cabrito served in its own juices or have it sauced or you can have it served in its own exotic blood sauce.
We highly recommend an order of machitos for the table! Choice meats all stuffed in a casing and cooked to perfection! Its a must!
Interested in trying out some delicacies? Try a cabezita! It's similar to Mexican beef barbacoa except the meat is left on the head for presentation!
