Springfield Grille

Reviewed By stay-home-mom-pa - Cowansville, Pennsylvania

Visited Cranberry for my birthday. Stopped at Springfield Grille because it is one of my family favorites. Extremely busy for mid-week. Waited about 20 mins. to be seated. Ordered drinks and meals upon first visit with the waitress because we had time to view the menu while waiting to be seated. Took a good amount of time for salad to arrive and then took good amount of time for food to arrive. We both ordered steak meals which were above average good. Sweet potato was cooked magnificently. Meal was B+/A-, service was B. If in the area, stop in for good food. Don't bother with desert. They haven't figured them out and you are usually too full to enjoy anyway.

Table 86 by Hines Ward

Reviewed By Paul H - Cabot, Pennsylvania, United States

The food was not appetizing and over priced. The portions are small. My wife ordered the Mai Mai it had little flavor and came with a small scoop of what tasted like unseasoned Uncle Ben's Rice and asparagus. I ordered the Chicken Farfalle, it had little flavor and I left hungry, also there was no bread included. Our server was good and they tried to rectify the disappointment by not charging for the entrees. I would not go back to Table 86 and definitely would not recommend it to friends.

Off the Hook

Reviewed By Bretmcbunch - Winnie, Texas

We were lucky to get a reservation on a Friday night of New Year’s Eve weekend...actually it was the last reservation available. We were to be seated at 7:30 but didn’t get to our table until 7:55. Our waitress immediately apologized and told us they had a sample platter of appetizers in the works since we didn’t get to our table on time - also the manager came over to apologize as well! Our service was impeccable the rest of the night. They accommodated us by selling us bottles of wine that were only available on the menu by the glass (it was one of our favorite Pinot Noirs). Our free appetizer consisted of the Cajun shrimp (jumbo shrimp dusted in Cajun seasoning & seared on a hot skillet served with orange marmalade), Ichiban (bite size pieces of fresh fish marinated in ginger soy sauce & finished with an Ancho Chili aioli - which was incredible) and a crab cake served with Remoulade Sauce. We also ordered the calamari and oyster Rockefeller appetizers! They were all great - the calamari was perfectly cooked! We also enjoyed the cup of clam chowder and Caesar salad - which was enough for 2 people to share. Sides are served family style so we had the steak fries (covered with Parmesan cheese and white truffle oil - one of the top sellers) as well as the crab infused Mac N Cheese! We plan to try the lobster shipped potatoes on our next visit. Our four entrees were Parmesan Style Swordfish (which we rated as #1 because the sauce was incredible), blackened Cajun redfish, one of the specials of the night which was Chilean Sea Bass & the swordfish carbonara. All were excellent dishes! We ended with creme brûlée and the triple chocolate latte (which we all fought over - it is a flour-less chocolate lava cake with 3 chocolates and Chantilly cream). Our dining experience was over the top and we will be back!

Went here while I was looking for a certain shrub, and hadn't eaten all day, so I decided to stop for a quick bite. I had the chicken salad sandwich and it was excellent. The menu is a little small and prices are a bit higher than one would expect, but it's very cute and my food was delicious. Only thing is you have to drink canned soda and they only have chips. Try it.

If a long wait time is an indicator of good food, this is the place. Approximately 50 minutes on a Sunday (noon-time). Very friendly reception upon entering the restaurant, coupled with a knowledgeable and efficient waitress. Menu has offerings for everyone. Out of curiosity, we tried the Million Dollar Bacon as an appetizer. Great choice: 4 slices of hardwood smoked bacon with brown sugar, back pepper, cayenne, and maple syrup drizzle. Delicious -- sweet with just the right kick. Two orders of Huevos Rancheros Tostadas, one Chickichanga, one Avocado Toast, and chocolate chip pancake for the child. Food was good, delivery time to the table needs a little fine tuning. One order was hung up in the kitchen, causing the other three to chill while waiting. Nothing major, but worth noting (easy fix).

Breakneck Tavern

Breakneck Tavern is an American restaurant with influences of Southern BBQ and Cajun foods. We are conveniently located on Route 228 in Mars, PA. Breakneck Tavern sits along the Breakneck Creek next to the railroad tracks in the valley that was once "nick named" the Breakneck Valley by the railroad companies that delivered goods here many years ago. We brought the rich history this valley offers into our restaurant with murals painted of the Velte Foundry that once stood in our location and a map of the famous Harmony Shortline route. Other accents can be found in the restaurant like antique railroad rail, railroad spikes, reclaimed windows, reclaimed wood and reclaimed antique barn doors. From start to finish we have been dedicated to Sustainable Construction. Our dedication to sustainability can be found in our construction materials, supplies and demolition process. During the Demolition all removed materials were recycled at Jon Garvin Salvage Yard. Many reclaimed materials were used from the old Building that once stood in our parking lot. The face of our bar is constructed of reclaimed lumber from the building that once stood in our parking lot. The windows that divide our bar and dining room came from that same building, as well as the large Barn Doors that close off our Private Dining Room. Throughout the construction process we chose as many sustainable building components as possible. Those components include, but are not limited to, ATAS International Sustainable Roofing Products, complete LED lighting package, Concrete countertops, Ecolab Sustainable dish Chemicals, Eco Friendly take packaging, Energy Star rated hot water tank/plumbing products. Water saver fixtures were installed in the restrooms and kitchens. Our dedication to Sustainability continues in our menu, kitchen supplies and chemicals. Our menu offers a large selection of Sustainable Seafood and Farm to Table responsible ingredients. Our chemicals are purchased from Eco-Lab a world leader in Sustainability. Our cleaning products and take out containers are Eco/Earth friendly. We have 40 beers on tap and many are from local craft distilleries with dedication to the same Sustainable process. When possible we choose paperless/electronic bill management and even advertise electronically to reduce bulk paper waste. We are open seven days a week lunch and dinner for your enjoyment of our responsible restaurant.

Enough of the geography lesson, on to the food. You guessed it: out of this world!!! First time visitors who heard a lot about this place. Were not let down. Clean and inviting atmosphere, complemented by a very capable, friendly, and efficient waitress (Shannon). Four adults and a 2 year old. No problem. Appetizers, entrees, and dessert were outstanding. The "draft beer" menu is extensive and a little bit overwhelming but, well worth the effort. Hands down, all four adults agreed on a return visit. A word of caution: some of the entrees (specials) can get a little pricey.

Max & Erma's

In 1972, Max & Erma created a fun, unique, gourmet hamburger restaurant you could take friends & family to, decorating it with quirky artifacts & local paraphernalia. Since that day, we’ve been committed to providing our guests with delicious all-American food & friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere the whole neighborhood can enjoy. We’ve grown over the years, but always remain true to what made us successful—delivering a great guest experience. After all, Max & Erma wouldn’t have it any other way.

Doing some shopping with the family, we end in the Cranberry area and there is a Max & Erma's restaurant. Food remain the same, high quality at an affordable prices. Service is always top notch. It is a shame they close the one in RIDC Park on Route 28. It was the best place for Lunch or Dinner without pretensions.
