Went here on a recent holiday in Luz and it was excellent as usual. We both had mushrooms in a sauce to start. My wife had sea bass and I had ostrich steak for mains and all were cooked to perfectio and well presented. Been here many times over the years and never been disappointed. Nice to have a restaurant with a very different menu.

Loved this place. A chalk board is your menu with special diets clearly labelled. We had a goats cheese starter and I thought it must have been to share the portion was so big. Husband had the black pudding . Both were beautifully presented. The main courses of duck and salmon were served with boiled potatoes and ratatouille as well as a tasty salad. Nice atmosphere,friendly staff. Would certainly recommend going here.

Visited this in september with family. We had lobster and prawn soup which turned out to be a bowl of sea water tasting liquid followed by cataplana which was trully awful. We have never been so disappoined after all the lovely meals we have had in luz. If you really want an outstanding meal go to Yolo you will not be disappointed.

Visited here on a recent family holiday in Luz. We had reserved a table as it was my wifes birthday and it is a very busy restaurant. As usual everything was cooked to perfection across a variety of dishes including steaks, pork and salmon. A couple of desserts were taken along with a couple of cocktails a gin and tonic and a beer and the bill came to 118 Euros for five of us which we thought was excellent value. On another we stopped by for lunch and it was also top notch.

Great food, great value, great service.
What more can you ask.
We loved the quality and portion sizes.
The waiting staff were attentive and unobtrusive, and were happy to make slight alterations to the menu to suit our tastes.
The meal was finished with a complimentary port, and overall we rate this place as the best in Luz

OndaLuz on the entrance to Praia da Luz, near when Rua da Varzea meets the Rua Direita, is a really nice traditional Portuguese Restaurante, know for its fish dishes, but it also has a wide variety of meat and seafood, you should also try the house especial lamb.

Visited in Feb, a Monday night, and the place was packed.
No wonder with food as good as this.
I had the garlic prawns and monkfish kebab with prawns, and both were top quality.
Okay the desserts are mostly frozen branded ice cream, but that's a small criticism when the real food is so good.
The manager and waiting staff were very friendly, and I would really recommend this great eatery.

This was one of our three great finds in Luz. We are big fans of Italian food and certainly weren't disappointed with Alloro.
It is a very comfortable and spacious restaurant with indoor and outdoor options. It is a very busy spot (even in September) so booking is advised!!!
The first time we ate here we both had bruschetta (my wife had the Romana and I had the rustica). I went for a Pizza Verdure which was excellent and my wife had Lamb chops with ratatouille vegetables and saute potatoes. She thought the meat was excellent but found the gravy a bit disappointing. We had Deserts which were strawberries and ice-cream with chocolate sauce.
We went back another night and both of us had bruschetta rustica and we both had pizzas. We pushed the boat out with a bottle of Cartexa (red).
A really fine restaurant. Excellent staff. Great atmosphere and service (while a little bit slow, but who cares we were on holidays!) was friendly and efficient.
When we revisit Luz Restaurant Alloo will certainly be on our list!

Friends had already booked but luckily managed to add us in. Strangers would probably struggle to find the restaurant or could even be put off by the exterior which would be a shame. Six of us had about four different mains but all shared the "couverts" which just kept coming and the presentation, wow! Owner was serving which brightened up the place with his constant infection, genuine smile. Lovely man.
Back to the mains. Menu isn`t extensive but the quality and presentation was the best I have come across, couldn`t fault it.
Meal was rounded off with a complimentary port or brandy, again good quality.
Couldn`t actually recommend one particular meal as everyone in our party was delighted with what they had.
