Lolo Creek Steakhouse

You are going to love the quality of the meats at this restaurant. Cooked over a real, wood fired open pit in plain sight, the tenderness and flavor cannot be beat. The portions are large , so sharing a cut like their ribeye is perfectly satisfying. Service is excellent and the owner/manager friendly and down to earth.

Big Dipper Ice Cream

Reviewed By josephone - missoula, montana

I grew up in northern Illinois and our favorite ice cream was across the border in Wisconsin. In the 1950s it was full cream ice cream and fantastic. The Big Dipper matches that old fashioned full cream treat! They have changing flavors and each flavor is outstanding! Whole families and groups of friends stand in line and have fun while waiting to get their special treat! There is always a line, but it is worth it!

The Sweets Barn

We are not a restaurant. We are a high end Candy Store that is an Artisan tea blender with over 80 tea blends, maker of Artisan Chocolates, truffles, fudges, and have fresh baked Cinnamon rolls as well as fresh bread pudding. Available as well is a large selection of Bulk candies. Our Motto is "Old Fashion Goodness". Our retail store front in Lolo has all stated above and more which hosts a small gift shop. We are a factory store that wholesales to other business and have an online store.

Not really sure how this place stays in business…. Their candies are average at best and some of the items we purchased actually tasted….old. Their Caramel pastries are suppose to be their forte' so maybe that is what they survive on…. Other than that, can't say it's worth the visit.

We've visited this DQ several times and we're not impressed.

The tiny, run-down lobby area is very hot in the late afternoon or early evening in the summer.

We had Peanut Buster Parfaits on our latest visit and the ice cream was not very frozen. It was melting all over as soon as we walked out the door.

This place strikes me as a cash cow that is being milked by the owner with little investment in upkeep.

If you can drive to Missoula, the DQs there are much nicer. Hamilton also has a very nice DQ.

Neat setting...the lodge is a great place to grab lunch. Our family had the Lochsa, Monster, and Mushroom Swiss burgers, chicken strips, and Baja Fish Wrap. All of them were very good and large in size. This was an excellent meal. If you are traveling highway 12 through this parts of the woods I recommend you stop in here for a great meal.

The restaurant offers a selection of local beers with some of them featuring exotic ingredients like huckleberry or apricot. I tried one with apricot: it is still mostly beer, the apricot just adds slightly to the taste. Hence, in contrast to other beer companies, the result is subtle and does not resemble a lemonade rather than a beer.
The ketchup is home-made and really delicious. The burger and the onion rings were a real treat, as well.

This Restaurant used to be "New Hong Kong Chef" and is now "Bamboo Chopstix".
They supposedly relocated from Missoula.
Service has been good by the Staff, but the food quality is lacking. This is..."Americanized Chinese Food". The Chow Mein is probably one of the better items on the menu, but the almond chicken had a sauce on it that tasted more like canned cream of Celery soup.... Beef dishes are so, so, as are the "sweet and sour dishes. We went in on a Thursday evening and it took us some 30 minutes to get our order. Guess I am spoiled with other Asian venues...but this one deserves a pass unless you have no other choice

This is your typical Montana small tavern with a West theme and typical food menu. Great place to meet friends, have some beverages and catch sports on one of the many TV's. If you are in to old guns they have quite a display and other old relics. The large fireplace is great on a cold day. Personal were nice and friendly.
