Fabulous lunch and excellent value using an itison voucher. We were greeted by friendly staff and enjoyed an aperitif while waiting on our friends to arrive . The menu was inventive and interesting. We weren't rushed and enjoyed a relaxing leisurely meal in beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed it so much we booked to come back for an overnight stay and dinner! ( because I'm worth it!)

Very nice surroundings, good service and very enjoyable meal. Good clean facilities. Only one complaint - why is the salt put in an open dish for people to dip fingers in? Not hygienic.

Myself and my fiancee had a meal here on a Saturday night. The restaurant is within a lovely conservatory with views out over Loch Earn.
Staff were very friendly and service was good, it's not a huge restaurant so it was all very personal.
I went for the 7 course tasting menu, and every course was excellent! All my plates went back empty. It also included a cocktail to begin with, and tea/coffee at the end.
Would recommend that menu to anyone.

Well our friends took us for dinner at the hotels restaurant. Pleasantly surprised as we have visited the area a couple of times but never visited before. The hotel and restaurant are nicely decorated and very clean.
The wecome is warmly and second to none. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The menu is small but the variety of dishes is well balanced. The food was presented well and of a good quantity.
I had the haggis to start with and was beautiful. My main course was the steak which was slightly over cook as i asked for rare and im sad to say was tastless. This was back up by my friend who had the same and agreed. Everybody else in our party found there dishes of a good standard.
The cheese board was lovely and the creme brulee was described by two guests as the best they had ever had.
All in all the minor slip with the steak, i would be visiting again on my next trip.

Across the road from the waterfall this is a pleasant location to have lunch.
The menu is not extensive but there seems to be all the major options covered.
Prices are quite high but as this was the only place we ate I cannot compare them.
Killin is a very pleasant town and well worth a visit and you must spend a few minutes getting some photographs of the falls.

If you are considering eating at this place you shouldn't consider any more... just make it happen, you will not be disappointed. It's taken me a year to come back and write this review , not because it wasn't worthy of a review back then but because it was so good reviewing it almost seemed silly. What words would I find to express my delight of the exceptional food, friendly knowledgeable service and welcoming homely environment? Over the last 12 months I have been lucky to explore other highly rated establishments in the U.K. and across Scandinavia and Iceland. It is only after experiencing these places that I felt I had to return to review this special place. Monachyle Mhor doesn't shout about where it stands in comparison to others, nor does it have to! The location is beautiful... if you can fly in onto water then do so! The scenery is so beautiful and the hotel nestles happily into the land in an understated way. The people are just so friendly and don't be surprised if the owners get chatting to you. This is not a pompous place! If you are looking for obvious flashiness then this might not be the place for you! There are dogs in the court yard and wellies lined up at the door. If you are looking for great food that is beautifully presented and uses local ingredients and local knowledge then you are in for a real treat. The food is not overly expensive, but be prepared to pay a few bucks for the wine. After years of travelling and eating our way across Europe, we still talk fondly of this place and would love to come back!

A very nice hotel with a reasonable size restaurant, pleasant staff and excellent food. On offer on the specials menu was a fish pie, not ever having eaten one before I can only say it was one of the tastiest pies I have ever had the pleasure of eating! Packed full of fish and all kinds of seafood my tastebuds literally loved every bite!
My wife chose the veal which whilst it was a very large portion she found it very bland despite the tasty sauce that accompanied it.
The two meals with 2 large glasses of house wine and a pint of bitter came to £47 not a bad price to pay.

We are staying locally and decided to pop in for dinner on Saturday. It looked quite with only one car in the carpark, usually a worrying sign. However once in doubts where pushed aside. There was only one other table in but they stop food around 8 and we arrived at 7 ish. (We booked a table but I dont think that was needed). The staff where all friendly and happy to chat to us about the local history (train line). Food was great, pies where filling and the burger was bigger than expected (ask for extra onion rings!). Puddings where nice too. Worth a visit, much more down to earth than the other restaurants in the area.

near the junction of Main st and Craignavie rd

Reviewed By Andrew M - East Kilbride, United Kingdom

Restaurant was very quiet when we went mid-January. But, to be expected as not tourist season.
Open all year round - unlike many other places to eat nearby. This was our third option after other places were closed for winter.
Good portions and decent prices. Simple food (sandwiches, toasties, baked potatoes etc) but good enough for us.
Has a view over the waterfall if you get a window seat.
