This restaurant is a real treat! Specialty is Italian cuisine, but also have fried chicken, pork chops and salad bar. We were seated promptly. Wait staff was so helpful and friendly. We were in the restaurant right before the Saturday night dinner crowd, but our service was timely even though the restaurant was getting super busy. We were in a group of six and all entrees were awesome: prime rib, lasagna, fried chicken, French onion soup, salad bar.

I remembered eating these donuts when I was a kid growing up in Illinois, so decided to try them again when we were in the area. Not as many stores as I remember, but the donuts themselves were just as good as I remembered. They are still light and flavorful and leave a wonderful taste in your mouth after you finish. They don't taste oily like some donuts can.
Sorry to say they are only available fresh from the bakery in Springfield or Lincoln, but if you are in that area of the world and you have a minute, try some, you won't be sorry.

The coffee here is excellent! They offer a great variety of specialty coffees and teas, as well as simply delicious brewed coffee. The service is always excellent. The ambiance is exactly what one would hope for in a coffee house. The pastries are HUGE and very tasty!

It's a Dairy Queen, where can you go wrong. Prices are a bit high but then so is the cost of dairy. I love their banana splits.

I had dinner here on by myself while traveling on business. It was a weeknight and the place wasn't very busy around 6pm. I was sat and served very quickly, but no one was overly friendly. The food itself was adequate. I ordered a taco salad and it wasn't bad, but the flavor wasn't anything I'd ever get again. All in all, I'll most likely try someplace else the next time I'm in Lincoln.

This restaurant, named after the owner's grandmothers, features home made sandwiches, soups, salads, great hot coffee drinks and delicious brewed iced teas. Cookies are okay, but there are cinnamon rolls and cupcakes, as well as other desserts, too. Worth the stop! The chicken salad is excellent!

We were looking for a restaurant where we could get a soup and sandwich and were sent to the Blue Dog Inn. The food is good and reasonably priced. However, the waitresses (3) spent their time texting and talking and not taking care of the customer. Will not go there again.

Dining in Lincoln IL on a Sunday night is very limited. We chose Rio Grande because it wasn't a chain. The food was very bland - we had shrimp soup which did have plenty of shrimp - swimming in a red watery tomato soup with cauliflower. Gag! Also a plain cheese quesadilla and an order of decent guacamole. 1 house margarita = $30 before tip.

On our way to Chicago with friends for an MS fund raiser and a long relaxing weekend. We pulled in and were seated right of way, the waitress brought our water and drinks pretty fast. It took a while for the waitress to come back and take our order. After she took our order it took over an hour to get our COLD meal the manager came over and said"you know a bus came in" (not so) we were seated 15 min. Before the bus pulled up, after the meals was served (you got it, COLD). Once again the manager came over and said ("you know a bus just came in") again NOT OUR PROBLEM. We were still seated before the bus arrived. The manager did offer to remake or meal but we could not wait any longer because we were on a time crunch. We are not the type of people who look for a free meal, however it could have been offered in which case we would have turned it down.
The best advice I could give is just keep on driving. Just a few miles further down the highway are great restaurants just off the exit ramp.
