Words cannot fully express how I feel about this sublime , peaceful and unique dining experience at The Astron Tavern in the area of Katounia near Limni in North Evia. Imagine yourself whisked away to a setting surrounded by deep lush green forest flowing down to the quiet beach where the mountain waters roll into the sea of the Evian Straits. This alone is heaven but one must remember the truly magnificent cuisine that comes with such a setting.
The "Ioannou" family have served customers for many a long year and have been fishing for just as long. This means when we say " Fresh Fish " it is truly outstandingly fresh , straight from the sea to the kitchen and to your table. And what a variety ! You will be simply spoilt for choice ! Octopus , shrimp, red snapper , Cod , Mackerel , Sea Bream , Bogue , Blotched Picarel , Garfish and so on and so on.........Perhaps you are not inclined to eat fish and you are a regular meat eater much like myself.......
Organicaly Home grown produced mouth watering fresh and so tempting you may be too full to attempt the need for a second portion ! The steak served at this tavern is second to none i have ever tried or found elsewhere ! Truly remarkable , delicious and savoury !
If not steak try the delicious beefburgers or meatballs , perhaps you would enjoy a large protion of "Dolmadakia" with some of the most wonderful Salads you have ever eaten.
The cook of the Family Ioannou is " Mrs. Koula" whose experience in cooking goes beyong most peoples wildest dreams. Her son Michael is the restaurant manager and an expert at making sure each customer is served both on time and in a fashion of five star performance.
Michael, alongside his uncle, is responsible for producing the unique home made wine to be found on your table, be it red, white, or rose , each is a perfect bouquet of fragrance.
I am well worn traveler and yet , mark my words , I have found no one who has ever left this tavern disappointed - Never ! So please , take a break and make your next visit to this place of perfection and if i am mistaken in any way , you may contact me here on Trip Advisor , I look forward to your comments.

Traditional Greek food, friendly staff, big portions!
We had sea food: mussels, oysters, grilled octapous and calamari ! All porriins were very big , food was tasty and very nice grilled!
Service was very fast and prices very reasonable!
A must visit for someone in the region!

Not only this family run taverna, Coridalos, tucked away in the shade of ancient pine trees, but the whole village of Rovies is one of rare hidden gems, yet undiscoveted by international tourists. Of course, Greeks know about it. In Northern Evia (Euboia), surounded by pine woods and olive growes where organic farming is applied since 1963, this village boasts unspoilt Beaches, several lovely family run hotels, authentic taverns where Coridalos stands out both by location and food. I've been coming here for my summer detox and repair holiday for 10 years and I would hate to see it commercialized and spoilt by too many tourists, but there is still enough space. It is still authentic.

I was in Limni in September and this shop was suggested by a local friend for its coffee.
They become my morning ritual on my way to the beach. Their Freddo C. is one of the best that I have tried so far. Well, I am not Greek so I may be mistaken about that :)
I did not try their food so I can not comment on that, yet.

Our internet cafe Eviastyl coffee and sweets is<br>PLAY room with PCs and entertaining games, PLAY-maker for authentic sports talks, Play movies / music / applications on line, Play store download, Play food, coffee, sweets, ice creams...snacks...and fresh juices!!!...and relaxing communication for good, intense conversations !!!! ... and not only those... I was taken there by locals when I was in Limni. Everything we had there was really tasty. Prices are reasonable. There is an outdoor Seating however when we went there it was chilly and we sat inside. From what I understand it stays open late.
You have to visit this restaurant if you are visiting Limni. You can easily drive up there. There are two or more entrances to the village. Go there hungry and you will not be disappointed.

Who could ask for more? Wonderful food - really! Beautifully prepared and delicious to eat. Very nice people run the taverna and it was recommended to my by my hosts at Vateri - the exceptional guest house where I always stay when in Evia. I ate four meals at Meltemi and can recommend all of them but my absolute favorite were the mussels in a white wine sauce. I wish I had ordered it each time - so I must return!

Visited Kochili a couple of times during our weeks stay at Hotel To Rodi. Lovely beachside bar and restaurant - quality food and ice cold beer on the beach. Prices are very reasonable. Get there early to find a sunbed.
