My wife and I need to start eating out local more often. The lamb dinner is my favorite and it seemed especially delicious this time around! Always great value and a hearty portion. I must mention that the 3 server ladies on duty sure have what it takes and they are a great team - enthusiastic and fun! Tabatha, Shauna, Jasmin (hope my spelling is not too far off)....you all do Lillooet proud with your zest to insure a great dining guest experience - well done!

Cookhouse Restaurant

Reviewed By Bart G - As, Belgium

Lillooet is not a big town, so we had to look for every possibility to have a nice diner. We tried the Cookhouse because of the 4-star rating.
In our opinion it rather should be 3-stars; considering we are in not such a great culinary environment. The Cookhouse looks like it is undergoing a little depression... the service was very mediocre and not heart warming. The food was ok, just a bit like fast-food upgraded.
Give it some new energy guys!

Lillooet Inn Restaurant

Reviewed By twinkletoes5477 - Lillooet, Canada

Visited during the Apricot Festival for breakfast and because we had our dog in tow, we decided to eat outside on the small tables provided.
We weren't acknowledged while sat waiting so I decided to go inside to see if I had to order at the counter. The server behind the counter was a trainee I believe but her trainer was very flippant in her instructions and I could see the trainee was struggling a little.
I ordered breakfast and paid over the counter and instructed that I would be sat outside. Here lies the confusion. I thought that we would be served outside.... but we (after a long wait of about 20 minutes) were handed a bag with all our food wrapped in Takeout containers. It was very strange.
I asked the server why we were given our meals this way and she mumbled something about prepaid food being take-out.
If I had known this I wouldn't have ordered there.
The food was mediocre. Service was poor. Décor was poor.
A very strange visit and I probably would avoid this restaurant in the future.

Revisited Honest Johnnie's Totem with a bunch of friends. I'm so glad they had the carpet cleaned, I was dreading it. However, I was pleasantly surprised and I will remember the date. We shared a Dinner for 6 and there was plenty to eat. Typical Chinese food North American style. Deep Fried Prawns, Sweet n Sour Pork (boneless), Noodles, Rice, Beef and broccoli etc etc. The spring roll was a bit greasy, but the rest was ok. Prices remain reasonable and the water was actually pleasant. Please don't expect Gourmet Chinese fare, it's Lillooet for goodness sake. It's the best Chinese food in town.

A&W Restaurant

After having a horrible lunch yesterday when we tried a local place in Revelstoke, we opted for A &W today for unsurprising fare. The upside to this A & W is the friendly, helpful personnel. Not having experience in these restaurants we told her that we wanted a single burger with onion, lettuce, tomato, Mayo, and ketchup. She suggested the Mama burger with a little customization. It was exactly what we wanted. We also enjoyed the large mugs of diet root beer. Reminded us of our youth!

The Rugged Bean Cafe

Reviewed By K B - Canada

My husband and I spent an evening in Lillooet- staying in a nearby Forestry Rec camp site ($12/night- it's a great deal!) while on a road trip. We bee-lined for The Rugged Bean first thing in the morning as we had read the reviews and knew it's where we wanted to have breakfast.
We were not disappointed.
Upon walking in, you are greeted by the lovely owner- with her endearing accent- who is more than happy to chat about the area and her experiences living there. She told us interesting stories of being evacuated the following month and of her past 20+ years since she moved there. We could have spent all day.
We said we wanted coffees and "Egg McMuffin" type sandwiches (which made the owner chuckle) and she said she would take care of us. Oh my- she really lived up to her promise! We both agreed, this was the best breakfast Sandwich we've had in a LONG time... it was made with a fresh egg, nicely toasted english muffin and a fantastic piece of ham (it tasted like my Grandma's Easter ham!) I was hooked from the first bite. The coffee was delicious- but being on a road trip, we had to limit ourselves to only one cup (not many places to stop on our journey!)
Admittedly- it wasn't cheap (about $25 for two coffees and two sandwiches) but it was well worth it. The alternative restaurant option looked like a greasy run down bar- whereas we enjoyed these incredible sandwiches on the idyllic patio overlooking Mountains.
We highly, highly recommend you stop in if you're driving through or in the area. We look forward to our return!

May Wong Restaurant

Reviewed By Moms-The-Word - Surrey, BC

This place has air conditioning which was the redeeming quality. The bathrooms were quite dirty.
The waitress (owner?) didn't want us ordering Western because she didn't have the ingredients. She pushed the 'Chinese Dinner For Four' which was quite reasonably priced, had six items and was advised to be very good.
The spring rolls were the best of the lot. The rest was mediocre mall quality food. In fact I've had better at mall food courts. This town doesn't have good Chinese food anymore. It used to years ago. In fact many small towns used to have really good Chinese; hard to find nowadays. Gibson's on the Sunshine Coast wasn't any better.
I hope things improve at May Wong's, especially for tour buses as there is adequate Seating.
Lilloette is starting to grow and expand again and it's good to see a local economy on the upswing. However a bit of tweaking is needed at this local Chinese/Western restaurant.

Take out or Delivery. Not a sit down resturant

Reviewed By simply-peregrinating - Burnley, United Kingdom

This was the only place to eat in Lillooet, everywhere else was closed!!
Consequently they were extremely busy and even ran out of some ingredients. However they managed to rustle up pizzas for us and as they couldn't make exactly what we wanted they very generously refunded CAD 2O off our order.
The pizzas tasted good and the dough was really delicious.
