Wonderful cuisine with imaginative menu and LOCAL sourcing. Interior is amazing. The historic little building was once the billiard room annex for a hotel! Great woody interior and some historic carpentry work. Lovely intimate atmosphere.

Typical southern charm abounds in the local coffee shop. You can store your own mug for convenience. They have a varied menu for such a small place. Inside are a couple tables at which you can sit and relax. You can also do a grab and go. The employees are nice and hustle!

It was with great anticipation that I ordered a regular black and white milkshake and my husband a regular cookies and cream. The help was pleasant, but couldn't agree as to who was going to make the shakes. Upon settling the matter, the shakes were completed in record time and we were on our way. What a let down. Neither of us could tell that ice cream was an ingredient in our respective shakes. Mine was little better than chocolate milk and my husbands was unidentifiable. After several sips we just trashed them. $10.00 thrown away. Save your money.

Went there for dinner. Service was prompt and friendly. Oyster appetizer was excellent although a bit small. Great sauce and about 5 small but perfectly done oysters. Liver entree was large with 3 nice slices of liver. Onions a nice touch, bacon would have been if the strips were done just a bit more. My wife got the mozzarella appetizer that was also very good. She opted for the sirloin entree. Great potatoes, fresh green beans and tender beef. Once the mozzarella was generous my wife ate less than half of her entree. We asked to have it boxed up. The server returned to tell us someone had tossed it out. Did not offer to replace or comp the dish. Lots of good dining places in town that would have done the right thing. Next time in town will not give them another opportunity to trash our food

We stopped at Pronto for my iced coffee and some baked goods for my husband. Friendly staff, clean and bright interior. Pronto was a very popular spot the afternoon we were there, especially the ice cream area. We loved the small town feel Pronto....the antithesis of a national chain coffee shop.

We had lunch at the Bistro. The restaurant was crowded with a large group that filled one side of the room, and was very loud. We ordered the oyster sandwich, which was okay, but not as flavorful as we expected. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. I would go back again when it was not so crowded to see if our experience would be better.

I knew they'd be slammed ON Valentine's Day, but actually, I was in and out in just a few minutes. Cocoa Mill has always been my go-to for chocolates on special occasions. I say "special occasions" because they are pricey, but that's what makes it special. Get the truffles. You will never be disappointed in the truffles.

The menu is both diverse and offers a variety of flavors....not a dull deli style shop. Service is friendly and while it was busy when we were there...we ordered relatively quickly and the food came out in a reasonable time frame. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Great location. Cool old style bookstore a couple of stores down.

My wife likes their breakfast, so we dine in morning several times a month. Wait staff are pleasant, food menu adequate, overall experience okay. Many reviews praise the sweets offered, but we dine for the food, which is consistently average. Positives: location, seating, quiet atmosphere. Negatives: coffee mediocre, chef can be moody.

Niko's Grille

Reviewed By Michael B - Salem, VA

My wife and I had lunch here while visiting the charming city of Lexington after reading other positive reviews. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is located right on Main St and is spacious, well lit and clean, even the restrooms. We were seated by a window and had a nice view. My wife ordered the Greek salad, which was huge, with Romaine lettuce and topped with lamb and served with a separate dish of homemade dressing which she liked very much. I got the daily special, a very generous burger, well trimmed with tomatoes, lettuce, and red onions and a Greek sauce that was delicious. I substituted the daily veggie, Greek-style green beans, for the French fries, for which I had to pay $1.50 extra. We both had a cup of soup to start as it was a cold March day. I got the lentil and she got the lemon chicken, both were delicious. Service was good.
