Himmel og Havn

Reviewed By DerBasti123 - Canton of Zurich, Switzerland

It may not be the easiest place to find but it surely is ridiculously cool and yummy.
Located in what I think is an old boatshed it is one great place.
Tables, chairs, crockery, simply everything seems to be one of a kind collected from probably a million different places.
Welcome and service by what I think is the owner have been extremely warm, friendly and authentic. Food takes a while to come out but given everything is made with so much love, it's well worth the wait. The quality of the food is absolutely outstanding - very high quality with fresh ingredients. Some of the best we have ever had.
Only three dishes on the menu - traditional Bacalao and one meat and fish dish each. But that is all you need really.
One of the loveliest, most personal restaurants I have been to in a very long time.

We were just back from climbing one of the local hills and needed lunch. We ordered an omelet and a hot chicken and cheese sub. Both were very good. Might go back tomorrow.

Johnsen's Fiskerestaurant

I read these mixed reviews and thought that we probably visited this place for lunch on one of its best days. The service was very good. Very knowledgeable and definitely taking pride in the place/food. The food was cooked very well. We liked both the fish soup (probably one of the best we had in Norway), and I liked my fish (I think it was cod fillet). Very tender and not oversalted.

Lill Gunn's Gardsbakeri

Reviewed By Groveland - Baltimore, Maryland

This is not a destination restaurant, but it should be a destination stop near the Viking Museum on the way to Leknes, in a small farm house beside the road for a cup of tea and cookie or one of those wonderful Norwegian waffles with homemade jam and whipped cream or, if it's around lunch time as it was for us, a "Local Lunch". It's the Norwegian version of the English pub's Ploughman's. Lilly also has some neat, reasonably priced gifts: crafts, handmade mittens, local jellies and teas and the like. It is not easy to find even though it's right on E10, on the right hand side as you are going south toward Leknes. And Lilly herself is delightful as well as the young woman, described herself as an intern, learning the trade. You'll feel good having stopped. You won't be stuffed. The quality of what you eat and drink will be excellent. And you'll have picked up a little gift that you look forward to giving when you get home and telling about Lilly Gunn's
