Fantastic food and wine, and the owner, a former boxer, is a great conversationalist. He brought us dessert at no charge when we protested that we were full, saying that we had to try the dessert for which his county is known. The location is beautiful, right on the sea.

A Deux Pas D'ici

Reviewed By Tiptoptraveller - Sheffield

You might easily walk past this restaurant but it is quite informal and welcoming within (better than it looks on the website). We had the five course Menu d'ichite at €35, starting with an amuse bouche, followed by perfectly cooked tempura de langoustines aux parfums d'ici et d'ailleurs, accompanied by an absolutely delicious mayonnaise. Another diner had profiterole d'escargots au camembert et pommeau for a starter. This was followed by a house sorbet, with Calvados apple jelly (le fameux trou normand), a main course of filet de boeuf au camembert rôti et sa crème au calvados (the fillet steak properly cooked blue), or magret de canard aux saveurs du Périgord (although marginally over-coooked, with a slice of foie-gras and a delicious sauce). Then a choice from six local cheeses (some could have been a little riper), followed by dessert: an excellent soufflé glacé Bénédictine et chocolat blanc and a lovely tarte sablée abricot pistache (with apricots and pitachios, not too sweet). With a good bottle of Crochet Sancerre rouge, plus pastis and Kir Normand to start, the bill came to a very reasonable €151 for three. Excellent friendly service. A very enjoyable relaxed meal. At this price it's five star.

Jean Luc Tartarin

Jean-Luc Tartarin is the incarnation of creative, impassioned cuisine. The menus and set menus reflect the seasons and feature freshly caught fish. The produce from the kitchen garden adds colours and textures to the sophisticated dishes further enhanced by balananced flavours and exquisite precision. For the dining room, Annabelle and Jean-Luc have opted for a minimalist, chic look done out in shades of black and white.

I was in Le Havre as it was the port of call on the Royal Princess and decided to try this restaurant for lunch since we were getting sick of the food on the cruise ship. We had the degustation menu and unfortunately half the menu got changed most likely the seasonal produce differed from what was on the menu.
Service was impeccable and they explained things in English which was good since my French is very limited. The most outstanding dish was their signature smoked yabbie dish. The presentation definitely had a "wow" factor. Being a French restaurant their pastry and breads were divine! It was the lightest mille-feuille I've ever tasted! The dessert alone was worth the money and the cheese selection was amazing. At least 30 to choose from!

This is a very small restaurant next to the casino, and it can only be described as Excellent!
Food, mostly fish, is very fresh and cooked to perfection.
Prices are very moderate and service is good and attentive.
But since this is a great restaurant the downside is that you will need to reserve a table since it's always full.

It is a self-service BBQ. As a pescetarianist, I don't have much option. (although they offer a variety of meat.) There are vegetables, shrimps and salmons too. A lot of amazing sauces. For the dessert I chose Fromage Blanc with Speculos, which is out of my expectation! (great!)

We got a recommendation from a local second-hand from a friend and were very pleased. The menu inside has english, but the staff doesn't seem to. Fortunately, the Ed Harris look-alike senior server was very happy to stumble along with my high-school french. We both had very good local fish dishes (this is Normandy, afterall). We loved that we seemed to be the only tourists - it was such a festive sounding crowd - big families with well-behaved children, older couples, younger couples. Classic french dining sequence and a nice pace. Good dessert - pistacchio flan!

We came here for lunch as it was recommended in Michelin and were looking forward to the weekday lunch at 19 Euros, only to find that it was off the menu and the alternative was the 28 Euro menu or 24 Euros for two courses. Quite a difference! But anyway, we were there so we had two courses, which were very good and charmingly served.

Very nice restaurant, smiling waiters, very good foog. I took a 23 euro menu +2 euro for supplement (bones). Not very cheap and not too expensive.
I would recomend to everyone to visit it.
A small issue: exist menu in English but personel do not speak it :(

Saveurs Ile Maurice
Friendly family run business in Le Havre.
I was on a business trip in Le Havre and found this restaurant. A business partner and I had diner there one evening.
The owners was very welcoming and suggested a couple of things from the menu. We were not disappointed with his choice. A real taste of the Mauritius island, freshly cooked for you to eat in a relaxing exotic décor.
Good selection of hot and mild dishes on offer and good Mauritius beer to help it down. Hot sauce is served a side so you can mix the desired amount for yourself.
Overall experience was very pleasant, the service was as good as the food.
The warm welcome and complimentary Rhum will guaranty my return to this establishment.
You may want to book in season to guaranty a table.
On street parking on side streets, free in the evening.
Enjoy

Hanami Sushi Bar

Reviewed By Dutch-Mikey - Normandy, France

This is a deceiving place from the outstanding. It's a snack bar where they make some of the most delicious sushi, maki and California rolls ever tasted outside of Japan.
The Cambodian chef was trained by the Japanese and it shows.
Excellent. Tasty. Creative.
To bad it can only seat 18 people.
Try the Rainbow. You'll not be sorry.
