Une cuisine faite maison comme on en trouve malheureusement de moins en moins. Plats excellents dans des assiettes chaudes (ça devient rare...), rapport qualité prix excellent, accueil agréable et le tout sans chichi. Nous avons choisi la cassolette d’escargots en entrée (exit le beurre et l’ail, elle était cuisinée à la crème et au chablis, une réussite), l’entrecôte sauce maroille et l’andouille sauce moutarde très bon aussi. Une adresse à ne pas manquer si vous êtes de passage à Laon.

We stopped here for Sunday lunch on our way back from a weekend in Champagne. The small town is beautiful and there are many restaurants to choose from. Whilst this is probably not one of the best, the food was well cooked, uncomplicated tasty local produce. Good value food, with a simple menu at a realistic price. You could do a lot worse. be sure to 'polish up' your French as language skills are limited - but then, so are mine!

I traveled to Laon from the US to visit family (my grandmother is from Laon). We went to dinner here one evening and the food was delicious. So good in fact, that I have looked for a place similar to this back home in Florida and have had no such luck. This is more of a traditional family style place, with prices on the higher end of what I am used to at home. Well worth the visit though.

Who knew? An excellent and authentic couscous restaurant in Laon's medieval city with a wide selection of meats that can be chosen to be served with your couches and vegetables, or you can get it just vegetarian. In addition to the couches, there is a menu of other north African dishes/Tajines so everyone should be able to find something. In addition to mint tea, we had an excellent Algerian red to complement our meal. Reasonable prices complete the package!

We stayed locally at Center Parcs and didn't want to fork out lots of euros for a rubbish meal. We had driven past this restaurant on the way and thought it looked nice. We weren't disappointed, the food was lovely. Great attention to detail from the snack with your apperitif, the amuse bouche and the delicious sauce on the steak and veal. The teens were worried they wouldn't find something to eat but were very happy with their steak and frites. The steak was so large it was a challenge for them to get through it. Enjoy this little gem but don't expect them to speak English. This is a truely local french restaurant which is why it is so special.

We visited having walked the town looking for a good straightforward, clean and welcoming restaurant. Le Palais was perfect - excellent service without being overbearing, prompt, polite, attentive and all with a smile. The food was just as described, well presented and simple but with style. And the price was very reasonable. We couldn't fault it and it really contributed to our stay in Laon. We would definitely visit again and were most impressed.

Our group chose this restaurant because of its mention in the Michelin guide. This was the best meal we had on our three week vacation in Europe. The menu was exciting, the presentation absolutely beautiful and the produce clearly of top quality. My dessert, which was like a tasting plate, was one of the best I have ever eaten. Yes, we parted with quite a few Euros, but we were delighted with the quality of the food and skill of the kitchen.
There is a good wine list and pleasing decor. Everybody tried hard to give us a great evening, and they succeeded.

Very tasty late lunch is this beautiful dining room a few kilometers outside of Laon. The food is of very good quality and the service is experienced. Classical dishes but well prepared and served with a smile. Good adress if you dont want to be surprised

With the Laon Classique in full swing getting a table was always going to be an issue but when 12 of us came calling there was no problem in finding room for us.
Very generous portions of excellent local food this was a surprisingly good find.
Definitely worth a visit if you're in Laon.
