Angel's has a lot of great options. I had the pineapple, pina colada and coconut shave ice with condensed milk and whipped cream on top and a scoop of coconut ice cream on the bottom. It was excellent. My wife had a chocolate and Reese's peanut butter cup shake. Portions are large. Don't miss it!

While in the area, we noticed the great reviews for this spot and made a point of stopping here. Wow, we were not disappointed! Everything was delicious and freshly made. The housemade home fries are AMAZING! The service was great and the guy working the counter was so thoughtful to play a Disney movie on the big tv, since we had little ones with us. It did not go unnoticed that he did that. Top notch spot! If you are in the area doing Polynesian Cultural Center, ClimbWorks, or Gunstock Ranch, be sure to stop here for a meal. You won't regret it!

Hukilau Cafe

We found this to be a great breakfast stop. The prices were great. It is a paper plate type dinning, the servers were great and the food was good. It was clean and had a lot of pictures of local people who made it big. It was fun to hear the stories from the server. Great pic, very casual, local dinning feel.

I'm not a fan of group food, this was okay, but not my favorite. Also remember that this is a "Mormon" owned facility, so the Pina colada, is just pineapple and coconut juice....no rum....a little disappointing, I should have known better.

Pounders Restaurant

Reviewed By John M - Dallas

We ate lunch at this restaurant in the Polynesian cultural center and were all blown away with both the speed and courtesy of the staff but also the quality of the food. Would not pay for the tour at PCC again but would definitely come back here to eat. Pizza was great as was burger and macadamia crusted mahi-mahi. Our server seemed to be from local BYU campus and was hustling his tail off. Best service we have had all week in a place that is more laid back with service than many are used to

Nice ambiance for a food truck in the side of a busy road. I ordered the chicken burrito. My husband had the combo burrito. Mine was pretty bland (thank God for salsa & hot sauce). Rice & beans were yummy. Service was good.

L & L Drive-Inn

Reviewed By kyrg01 - Underhill, Vermont

Is it fine dining? no, but it is my first stop for food after landing. Why? because there is nothing like a plate lunch to let you know you're in Hawaii. Some heavily breaded meat, lots of white rice and macaroni salad with plenty of mayo ( I think they consider mayonnaise a vegetable here) this is Island comfort food. If they served shave ice, it would be a perfect one stop eatery.

Laie Chop Suey

Reviewed By karenpammy2016 - San Francisco, California

Laie Chop Suey was a nice find inside the Laie Shopping Center near the Polynesian Culture Center. We arrived there shortly after 11a.m and the Polynesian Culture Center was not open until 12 noon; therefore, it was a nice stop for a local Chinese restaurant lunch. It is small, perhaps only about 15-20 tables. Their orders are totally huge! I ordered the BBQ pork Saimin dish and they gave at least over 20 pieces of actual lean BBQ pork (char siu) with the order which is a rarity as most places would only give around 5-7 pieces per order and they usually contain a lot of fat.
The saimin order also came with nappa cabbage. Many locals stop here for lunch or take-out orders. Very reasonable prices for their huge orders also!
The waitress even thought we were "locals". Laie Chop Suey is not touristy and is a very nice local restaurant. Must stop if heading to Polynesian Culture Center or the North Eastern shoreline of Oahu!
