Go early or you will have to wait...we have attempted to eat breakfast here a few times and can never wait as long as the wait list is...finally we got in.
We tried the pancakes with lilikoi sauce (2 pancakes with sauce cost $7.95) and a southwestern scramble ($11.95). Both were excellent.
Service was very good.
The rye toast was the best toast I have ever had.
We absolutely would eat breakfast at Moke's bread and breakfast again.

A very together cafe combining a nice building facade, kind of a mix of plantation island chic, with a busy eclectic interior split between the coffee/drink/cash counter and the food/ordering/pick-up counter and open eating area at the rear.
We've been coming to Oahu every year around the same time and stop here when we do, usually after staying at the Turtle Bay resort. Not wanting to eat again at Turtle Bay we invariably start driving and discover there are no good eating places between there and Kailua and hit the Kalapawai Cafe - which always suits us fine. The interior complements the exterior very well and there is an organized casual-ness that we love.
My wife had a pulled pork breakfast burrito that she loved, and I had a salad not wanting to get stuffed. Both were good and the coffee decent so we were happy. Moreover, with plenty of tables and space, we relaxed and spent time there planning our next move.
We'll be back!

Enjoyed a great breakfast! I had the pancakes with a side of home made sausage. The sausage was very good. My wife had the eggs on sourdough bread and my son had the Custer French toast! All were well cooked and very tasty! The service was excellent. Would definitely go back! A real island treat!

Here's the deal
Very nice indoor and outdoor seating options. Affordable food cost and great portions.
I ordered extra garlic for the chicken but that wasn't the case. However, very tender with light breading.
The duck sandwich was nice but it tasted like the it had too much fish sauce in the dressing.
The fries was nice and perfectly seasoned.
Service was great but it would have been nice to have our waitress offer another round of drinks during our meal instead of at the end of the meal. Parking is all metered street parking.

Whole Foods are always great for selection and freshness and always expensive but island prices took me by surprise. We bought 3 steaks and 3 pounds of little neck clams plus some stuff for breakfast for a day or so and some alcohol and the cost was over $300. Ouch. Everything on the island is pricy but this seems extra high.

Saw this on a internet search. This was a VERY nice surprise. A relatively small dinning area, recommend reservations. I had veal, and wife had risotto, both very tasty. Our server (Gianna) was excellent. Definitely will come back and recommend this restaurant.

This place was great! Friendly staff, great service, and excellent food. The portions are very large, so come hungry or share. We tried three different types of eggs benedict and both the guava and apple cinnamon pancakes. We also had the Hawaiian omelette (there were a lot of us). It did not disappoint! The guava pancakes were a bit sweet for my taste, but the pancake underneath was delicious by itself or with a bit of coconut syrup. Enjoy!

Located next to my favorite shave ice on the island (Island Snow) is a great pizza joint. We got the whole pizza combo and it sure rang our bell after an afternoon on the beach in December. Crust and sauce are very important to me and Bob's does both to perfection. My pick for Kailua when the pizza cravings hit.

First time here. Wife had a Big Burger (Garlic or something) and I had a Bigger burger (Straight up LTOC). Lots of other options to build your own. Great taste and well-made Ordering to receiving our food was streamlined! Has indoor and outdoor seating. No spectacular views or anything, you're in a strip mall. We didn't go there for that reason.
Never the less, good food, reasonably priced, and the staff was very friendly! I would recommend this to friends and family.

A friend of ours took us here when we were running around photographing the island. The deli is small and tucked back in the corner of the market but don't let it's small size fool you. They put out some full size meals that are the real deal. I had a chili dog that was too good to be true. When you're there, grab a side of their BBQ sauce and a bag of Maui Onion Chips. It sounds weird, but they are delicious together! If you want some old world charm and friendly country hospitality on the bustling island of O'ahu, then you need to stop here for some aloha and fabulous food!
