Opera offers solid food, but my experiences, five total this time, were much less satisfying than my earlier experience in the summer. The food was not as good. The service is fine, but you do have to work to get a beer at the bar. Other customers took to clanging glasses or just yelling to get service. Of course, this is not uncommon in Sweden, where customer service could use a little help.
If you want decent food and a draft beer (Norlands), then it's not a bad stop. There are better options.

I'm a filmmaker and often travelling for shootings I need to stop in some restaurant to have lunch or dinner break. This time I spent one week travelling from Piteå (Sweden) to Alta (Norway) so i had the chance to look for a dinner place. Is not easy to find an open place in Sweden after a certain hour and how Italian good food is always a concern but this time we struck the target. I and my colleague we didn't want to sit in a luxury hotel or at least an expensive one like it appeared another restaurant along the main avenue of Jokkmok. Briefly, we saw this restaurant and we get into. The food in the showcase looked very fresh and attractive, besides some foods gave the idea of some Sicilian food so, I convinced my colleague to have some extra food like appetizer and then our chosen dishes.
No words, the food was very fresh how it looked at first sight and very tasteful.
I congratulated with the owner to discover that he was emigrated from Iran to Sweden long time ago.
He likes to cultivate fresh vegetables and spices in the vegetable garden to be served in the restaurant.
The vegetable garden is set at open sight, in the open air just out of the main hall.
We profited of the sunny evening so, we had a very quiet and tasteful dinner in the garden beside the vegetable cultivation and the little greenhouse.
I remember the sweetness and kindness the owner described the precious cooking work of the wife, in his words "She makes anything handicraft, it takes a long time to arrange all dishes but then this precious work finish in 5 minutes of eating!"
Cleanliness was perfect in any ambience main eating hall, garden and toilet...this is the best place where I ate last week along the "old midnight sun route" we were filming.
I suggest you to pay it a visit cause it worth! Price is good also for budget people and ratio quality/cost very high.
See you soon

We had just driven up from Lulea stopping at the Arctic Circle and were looking for something traditional, we saw the sign for Tourist Information, which happened tobe closed for lunch, and right nextdoor was this lovely restaurant full of happy eaters. We managed to get a table as some others were leaving. The system is you pay as you enter and get to help yourself to the soup course and a meat course all beautifully cooked (no a la carte) with various soft drinks and tea or coffee and biscuits fo finish. The soup was beautiful smoked fish with bread and crispbreads and the main was pork loin with herby roast poataoes with rice and salads. Cost 170 Kr for 2 of us (16 GBP). Very friendly and efficient. Set us up for a walk arround Jokkmokk and a visit to 'Tenn' a wonderful pewter and silversmith.

Greta who owns the cafe is the official "Sami Food Ambassador." They clearly chose the right person. She cooks up traditional recipes using local food. Her soups are quite glorious. I had a chance to have a reindeer soup as well as a reindeer tongue soup. She also serves baked potatoes and smorgas. In addition, Greta makes teas from local plants. I tried every tea, and each was really quite good. She also makes honey, bark flour bread, angelica candy, etc...
The cafe itself is very cozy and inviting, especially Greta and her daughter. I spent a great deal of time there; it became a very welcoming second home.
If you are in the Jokkmokk area, stop by and visit. And say "hi" from me.

Sitting right below the hotel and on the very Polar circle (at the moment) is the camping center with a big Lavu to fire up. You can see magnificent Northen lights across the sky over the lake in the winter and take your skies or snowmobile across the lake and up on the snowmobile tracks under the powerlines. The hotel is a great base for good adventures.

Stopped here before going through the museum. Only had a (smoked salmon) Sandwich and tea but it was very good. Also noticed lots of reindeer dishes on the menu, which was interesting. Free wifi, nice little dining room, quick and friendly service. It did the job!

Absolutely recommended for lunch but go a little late to avoid the office workers rush. Moderately priced good wholesome food. Run by two really friendly young (by my standards) women and reminded me of similar places in university towns throughout europe. Comfortably furnished with nicely trendy decor. Unlimited coffee which is always nice. We went twice and if I lived and worked in Jokkmokk I would definitely be a regular. Vegetarians well catered for.

Went into town to pick up a few things and stumbled across the words Kebab flashing in the front window. We thought yes please. It had been a while since we had any sort of takeaway.
We went in and the staff were very helpful. They served us eat in kebab with chips on a plate. The sauce wasn't garlic, more of a chipotle but it was still so good! That's what the different spin was.
Bonus was that we could get beer here too. The choice of pizza and yiros was amazing and the quality of food was awesome. Affordable, easy takeaway with brilliant service.
Highly recommend.
